تراجع مؤشر الدولار بشكل طفيف خلال تعاملاته اليوم (الأربعاء)، مع ترقب نتائج اجتماع الفيدرالي وسط توقعات بخفض أسعار الفائدة في وقت لاحق اليوم.
وانخفض المؤشر -الذي يقيس أداء العملة الخضراء أمام سلة من 6 عملات رئيسية- بنسبة طفيفة تبلغ 0.1% إلى 99.157 نقطة.
وارتفع اليورو بنسبة 0.1% إلى 1.1636 دولار، وزاد الجنيه الإسترليني بالوتيرة ذاتها إلى 1.3308 دولار، فيما استقرت العملة الأمريكية أمام نظيرتها اليابانية عند 156.79 ين.
ويتوقع المستثمرون احتمالية بنسبة 90% لخفض أسعار الفائدة من قبل الفيدرالي في وقت لاحق اليوم، بحسب أداة «سي إم إي فيدووتش».
فيما يترقب المستثمرون تصريحات «جيروم باول» رئيس الفيدرالي وتوقعات أعضاء اللجنة الفيدرالية للسوق المفتوحة عقب انتهاء الاجتماع، لمعرفة آفاق السياسة النقدية في العام القادم.
The dollar index declined slightly during its trading today (Wednesday), as the market awaits the results of the Federal Reserve meeting amid expectations of an interest rate cut later today.
The index - which measures the performance of the greenback against a basket of 6 major currencies - fell by a slight 0.1% to 99.157 points.
The euro rose by 0.1% to $1.1636, and the British pound increased at the same rate to $1.3308, while the U.S. currency remained stable against its Japanese counterpart at 156.79 yen.
Investors expect a 90% probability of an interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve later today, according to the CME FedWatch tool.
Meanwhile, investors are awaiting statements from Jerome Powell, the Federal Reserve Chair, and the forecasts from the members of the Federal Open Market Committee following the meeting, to understand the outlook for monetary policy in the coming year.
