The Central Bank of Syria issued a decision that obliges all banks operating in the country to return the insurance amounts, in Syrian pounds, to the accounts of the importers with them, provided that the importer is not listed on the lists of foreign exchange violators that the bank has previously circulated.

The decision, issued by the Central Bank's Management Committee, includes financing operations for imports that were carried out under previous financing decisions prior to decision number (1683/L.1) dated December 15, 2024, which have not yet closed their accounts to date, where banks are required to deposit these amounts into the importers' accounts opened with them in Syrian pounds.
