وقّع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أمراً تنفيذياً بمضاعفة الرسوم الجمركية على جميع واردات الصلب والألومنيوم من 25% إلى 50%، على أن تدخل الرسوم الجديدة حيز التنفيذ اليوم (الأربعاء).
ويتوقع أن تُشكّل زيادة الرسوم الجمركية الأمريكية على واردات الصلب والألومنيوم ضربةً قاسية لشركات صناعة الصلب الكورية الجنوبية التي تُعاني بالفعل من فائض المعروض وانخفاض الأسعار في ظل التباطؤ الاقتصادي.
وتسعى شركات صناعة الصلب الكورية إلى إيجاد سبل للتعامل مع الحواجز الأمريكية الجديدة، أو على الأقل تقليل تأثير الرسوم الجمركية الباهظة على أعمالها، وفق وكالة «يونهاب» الكورية للأنباء.
