وقعت وزارة الطاقة السورية مذكرات تفاهم بـ7 مليارات دولار مع شركات دولية لتطوير مشاريع الكهرباء.
وشملت مذكرات التفاهم تطوير أربع محطات توليد كهرباء بتوربينات غازية تعمل بالدورة المركبة (CCGT) في مناطق دير الزور، ومحردة، وزيزون بريف حماة، وتريفاوي بريف حمص، بسعة توليد إجمالية تقدر بنحو 4000 ميغاواط، باستخدام تقنيات أمريكية وأوروبية، إلى جانب محطة طاقة شمسية بسعة 1000 ميغاواط في وديان الربيع جنوب سورية.
وقالت وزارة الطاقة في بيان نقلته وكالة الأنباء السورية إنها وقعت مذكرات التفاهم مع كل من مجموعة UCC العالمية وشركة أورباكون وشركة باور الدولية وشركة جنكيز للطاقة وشركة كاليون للطاقة.
وأضاف وزير الطاقة المهندس محمد البشير في كلمة له خلال مراسم التوقيع: «نعيش لحظة تاريخية تشكل نقطة تحول في قطاع الطاقة والكهرباء في سورية لإعادة بناء البنية التحتية المتهالكة في هذا القطاع المهم».
وبين البشير أن هذه المذكرة ترسخ التعاون والتكامل الإقليمي في قطاع الطاقة وتساعدنا على تحفيز مشاريع الطاقة النظيفة والمتجددة.
وأوضح وزير الطاقة أن استثمار 7 مليارات دولار سيسهم بتوليد 5 آلاف ميغاواط؛ الأمر الذي يسهم في زيادة عدد ساعات التغذية الكهربائية وينعكس إيجاباً على جميع مناحي الحياة.

The Syrian Ministry of Energy has signed memorandums of understanding worth $7 billion with international companies to develop electricity projects.
The memorandums of understanding include the development of four gas turbine power generation stations operating in combined cycle (CCGT) in the areas of Deir ez-Zor, Mahardah, and Zizoun in Hama countryside, and Trifaou in Homs countryside, with a total generation capacity estimated at around 4000 megawatts, using American and European technologies, along with a solar power station with a capacity of 1000 megawatts in the Wadi al-Rabi' area in southern Syria.
The Ministry of Energy stated in a statement reported by the Syrian News Agency that it signed the memorandums of understanding with the UCC Global Group, Eurocon Company, International Power Company, Jengiz Energy Company, and Kalyon Energy Company.
Energy Minister Engineer Mohammad al-Bashir added in a speech during the signing ceremony: "We are experiencing a historic moment that marks a turning point in the energy and electricity sector in Syria to rebuild the dilapidated infrastructure in this important sector."
Al-Bashir indicated that this memorandum solidifies regional cooperation and integration in the energy sector and helps us stimulate clean and renewable energy projects.
The Energy Minister explained that the investment of $7 billion will contribute to generating 5000 megawatts, which will help increase the number of hours of electricity supply and positively reflect on all aspects of life.
