رفع أربعة أشخاص، كانوا يُعتبرون من أشد المقربين إلى نجم البوب الأمريكي مايكل جاكسون، دعوى قضائية مفاجئة يتهمونه فيها بارتكاب جرائم اغتصاب وتحرش جنسي بحقهم عندما كانوا أطفالاً، وزعموا أن بعض هذه الانتهاكات وقعت داخل منازل النجمين العالميين إليزابيث تايلور وإلتون جون.
العائلة الثانية
ورُفعت الدعوى التي قدمت في 27 فبراير الماضي، من قبل الأشقاء إدوارد ودومينيك وألدو كاششيو وشقيقتهم ماري نيكول بورتي، وهم أفراد عائلة كاششيو التي طالما وُصفت بأنها «العائلة الثانية» لجاكسون، وكانت لعقود خط الدفاع الأول عنه في وجه أي اتهامات سابقة، غير أن الشكوى المكونة من 23 صفحة قلبت الموازين تماماً، واصفة المغني الراحل بأنه «مفترس أطفال متسلسل»، «قام على مدى أكثر من عقد بالتخدير والاغتصاب والاعتداء الجنسي على كل من المدعين»، مشيرة إلى أن الانتهاكات بدأت في التسعينيات عندما كانوا أطفالا تراوح أعمارهم بين السابعة والثامنة.
تفاصيل صادمة
وتتضمن الدعوى تفاصيل صادمة عن مواقع محددة شهدت هذه الانتهاكات المزعومة، فإضافة إلى مزرعة جاكسون الشهيرة «نيفرلاند» في كاليفورنيا، زعمت الشكوى أن المغني اغتصب وتحرش بإدوارد كاششيو داخل منزل إليزابيث تايلور في سويسرا ومنزل إلتون جون في المملكة المتحدة، خلال توقف في جولته الغنائية Dangerous World Tour بين 1992 و1993. كما اتهمت الدعوة جاكسون باغتصاب وتحرش بدومينيك خلال جولة HIStory World Tour في فرنسا.
أما الشقيقة ماري نيكول، فادعت بتعرضها للاعتداء في عدة مواقع أمريكية ودولية، بما في ذلك نيفرلاند ونيويورك ولاس فيغاس وفلوريدا ومنزل العائلة نفسه، إضافة إلى محاولة فاشلة للاعتداء عليها في البحرين حيث أقام جاكسون بين 2005 و2006. ولم تشر الدعوى إلى وجود أي علم أو ضلوع للنجمين تايلور وجون بهذه الأحداث في منزليهما.
تحول كاششيو
ويمثل هذا التحول في موقف عائلة كاششيو صدمة حقيقية، لاسيما أن شقيقهم فرانك كاششيو عمل بشكل وثيق مع جاكسون لسنوات وكان من أشد المقربين له، ونشر مذكراته في 2011 مدافعاً عنه ومنكراً أي اتهامات ضده.
وكان أفراد العائلة يُستشهد بهم باستمرار من قبل مؤيدي المغني كدليل دامغ على براءته من اتهامات التحرش بالأطفال التي طالته سابقاً.
محاولة يائسة
من جانبها وصفت محامية أسرة جاكسون مارتي سينغر، الدعوى بـ«محاولة يائسة للحصول على المال من قبل أعضاء إضافيين في عائلة كاششيو الذين ركبوا الموجة مع شقيقهم».
وأشارت في بيان أصدرته إلى أن العائلة دافعت بحزم عن مايكل جاكسون لأكثر من 25 عاماً قبل أن تقلب موقفها، معتبرة الدعوى مخططاً للحصول على مئات الملايين من الدولارات.
وكشف البيان أن أفراد العائلة سبق لهم تقديم مطالب مالية كبيرة للتركة، من بينها مبلغ 213 مليون دولار عبر محامٍ، ثم 40 مليون دولار عبر محامٍ آخر سبق له تمثيل جاكسون نفسه. وشدد المحامي على تبرئة المغني في محاكمته الشهيرة عام 2005 بعد محاكمة استمرت 5 أشهر.
Four individuals, who were considered some of the closest to American pop star Michael Jackson, have filed a surprise lawsuit accusing him of committing rape and sexual assault against them when they were children, claiming that some of these abuses occurred inside the homes of the global stars Elizabeth Taylor and Elton John.
The Second Family
The lawsuit, filed on February 27, was brought by siblings Edward, Dominic, and Aldo Caschio, along with their sister Mary Nicole Borti. They are members of the Caschio family, which has long been described as Jackson's "second family" and had been his first line of defense against any previous allegations. However, the 23-page complaint completely turned the tables, describing the late singer as a "serial child predator" who "over the course of more than a decade drugged, raped, and sexually assaulted each of the plaintiffs," noting that the abuses began in the 1990s when they were children aged between seven and eight.
Shocking Details
The lawsuit includes shocking details about specific locations where these alleged abuses took place. In addition to Jackson's famous "Neverland" ranch in California, the complaint alleged that the singer raped and sexually assaulted Edward Caschio inside Elizabeth Taylor's home in Switzerland and Elton John's home in the UK during a stop on his Dangerous World Tour between 1992 and 1993. The lawsuit also accused Jackson of raping and assaulting Dominic during the HIStory World Tour in France.
As for sister Mary Nicole, she claimed to have been assaulted at several locations in the U.S. and internationally, including Neverland, New York, Las Vegas, Florida, and the family home itself, in addition to a failed attempt to assault her in Bahrain where Jackson resided between 2005 and 2006. The lawsuit did not indicate any knowledge or involvement of stars Taylor and John in these events at their homes.
Caschio's Turnaround
This turnaround in the Caschio family's stance is a real shock, especially since their brother Frank Caschio worked closely with Jackson for years and was one of his closest friends, publishing his memoirs in 2011 defending him and denying any allegations against him.
Family members were continuously cited by the singer's supporters as compelling evidence of his innocence regarding previous child molestation allegations.
Desperate Attempt
For her part, Jackson family attorney Marty Singer described the lawsuit as a "desperate attempt to get money from additional members of the Caschio family who have jumped on the bandwagon with their brother."
In a statement, she noted that the family had staunchly defended Michael Jackson for over 25 years before reversing their position, considering the lawsuit a scheme to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars.
The statement revealed that family members had previously made large financial demands on the estate, including a sum of $213 million through one attorney, and then $40 million through another attorney who had previously represented Jackson himself. The attorney emphasized the singer's acquittal in his famous trial in 2005 after a five-month trial.
