في تصريحات جديدة فاجأت ملايين المعجبين، كشفت النجمة العالمية كيم كارداشيان (45 عاماً) أنها قررت رسمياً تغيير اسمها من «كيمبرلي» إلى «كيم» فقط قبيل أيام من تصوير أولى حلقات برنامج الواقع الشهير «Keeping Up with the Kardashians» المعروف عربياً باسم: آباء وأبناء: عائلة كارداشيان.
وقالت كيم في بودكاست حديث: «رأيت اسمي مكتوباً بالكامل Kimberly Kardashian على الشاشة في الإعلان الترويجي الأول، فقلت في نفسي: هذا طويل جداً! الناس لن يتذكروه بهذه السهولة».
وأضافت ضاحكة: «حتى اليوم، كل أصدقائي القدامى ووالدي الراحل روبرت كارداشيان كانوا ينادونني كيمبرلي… لكن القرار كان يجب أن يُتخذ بسرعة».
الأكثر مفاجأة في حديثها أن كيم كانت العقل المدبر والأكثر إصراراً داخل العائلة على قبول عرض البرنامج الوثائقي الذي غيّر حياتهم إلى الأبد، موضحة: «منذ كنت صغيرة وأنا أشاهد The Real World على MTV، وكنت أحلم أن تكون لعائلتي برنامجها الخاص».
وأشارت إلى أنه عندما جاء العرض من شركة Bunim/Murray – وهي نفس الشركة المنتجة لـ Real World – «أقنعت الجميع».
وتابعت: «كورتني وكلوي وأمي كريس كن مترددات جداً في البداية، لكنني قلت لهن: هذه فرصتنا الذهبية للترويج لمتجرنا داش DASH، وسنصبح مشهورات بين ليلة وضحاها… وكان هذا بالضبط ما حدث!».
يُذكر أن «Keeping Up with the Kardashians» عُرض لأول مرة عام 2007 على قناة E! واستمر 20 موسمًا على مدى 14 عاماً، قبل أن ينتهي في يونيو 2021.
وبعد توقف البرنامج بعام واحد فقط، انتقلت العائلة إلى منصة Hulu مع برنامج جديد بعنوان «The Kardashians» الذي لا يزال مستمراً حتى اليوم.
In new statements that surprised millions of fans, global star Kim Kardashian (45 years old) revealed that she has officially decided to change her name from "Kimberly" to just "Kim" just days before filming the first episodes of the famous reality show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," known in Arabic as: آباء وأبناء: عائلة كارداشيان.
Kim said in a recent podcast: "I saw my name written in full, Kimberly Kardashian, on the screen in the first promotional ad, and I thought to myself: that's too long! People won't remember it that easily."
She added, laughing: "Even today, all my old friends and my late father Robert Kardashian used to call me Kimberly... but the decision had to be made quickly."
The most surprising part of her talk was that Kim was the mastermind and the most determined within the family to accept the offer for the documentary series that changed their lives forever, explaining: "Since I was young, I have been watching The Real World on MTV, and I dreamed of my family having its own show."
She pointed out that when the offer came from Bunim/Murray – the same company that produces Real World – "I convinced everyone."
She continued: "Kourtney, Khloé, and my mom Kris were very hesitant at first, but I told them: this is our golden opportunity to promote our store DASH, and we will become famous overnight... and that’s exactly what happened!"
It is worth noting that "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" premiered in 2007 on E! and ran for 20 seasons over 14 years, before ending in June 2021.
After the show was paused for just one year, the family moved to Hulu with a new show titled "The Kardashians," which is still ongoing today.
