أعلن رئيس مهرجان بغداد السينمائي مدير عام دائرة السينما والمسرح جبار العبودي، أن المهرجان سيقاطع جميع الفعاليات والمؤسسات السينمائية الإسرائيلية، تضامناً مع الشعب الفلسطيني في قطاع غزة، واعتراضاً على القصف المستمر على القطاع.
وأوضح جودي، خلال كلمته في حفل افتتاح الدورة الثانية للمهرجان، أن هذا القرار يعكس الموقف الثقافي والوطني للعراق تجاه القضايا العربية ورفض الإبادة ضد الشعب الفلسطيني في قطاع غزة، مؤكدًا أن السينما يجب أن تعكس قيم العدالة والإنسانية.
دعوة للمقاطعة
ودعا جبار إلى مقاطعة المؤسسات السينمائية الإسرائيلية، وحث صناع السينما والفنانين على اتخاذ موقف مبدئي من هذه الجرائم النكراء، واصفاً ما يحدث بأنه همجية وبلطجة دولية وإجرام ممنهج.
كما أشاد بالدعم المباشر من رئيس مجلس الوزراء العراقي المهندس محمد شياع السوداني، قائلاً إن انعقاد المهرجان ما كان ليتم لولا تدخله المباشر وحرصه على إنجاح هذا الحدث الثقافي.
لفتة إنسانية
وفي لفته إنسانية، خصّص المهرجان لحظة لاستذكار الفنانين الراحلين هذا العام، من بينهم د.إقبال نعيم، وعباس الحربي، وسليمة خضير؛ تكريماً لإسهاماتهم المميزة في إثراء المشهد الفني والثقافي العراقي.
The President of the Baghdad International Film Festival, General Director of the Cinema and Theater Department, Jabar Al-Aboudi, announced that the festival will boycott all Israeli cinematic events and institutions, in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and in protest against the ongoing bombardment of the region.
During his speech at the opening ceremony of the second edition of the festival, Jabar explained that this decision reflects Iraq's cultural and national stance towards Arab issues and its rejection of the genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that cinema should reflect the values of justice and humanity.
Call for Boycott
Jabar called for a boycott of Israeli cinematic institutions and urged filmmakers and artists to take a principled stance against these heinous crimes, describing what is happening as barbarism, international bullying, and systematic crime.
He also praised the direct support from the Iraqi Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shia' Al-Sudani, stating that the festival would not have taken place without his direct intervention and commitment to the success of this cultural event.
Humanitarian Gesture
In a humanitarian gesture, the festival dedicated a moment to remember the late artists this year, including Dr. Iqbal Naim, Abbas Al-Harbi, and Salima Khudair; in honor of their significant contributions to enriching the Iraqi artistic and cultural scene.
