أعلن مهرجان الجونة السينمائي تكريم النجمة العالمية كيت بلانشيت، بمنحها جائزة «بطل الإنسانية»؛ تقديراً لمبادراتها الإنسانية وجهودها المستمرة في دعم قضايا اللاجئين والنازحين حول العالم.
وفي بيان رسمي، أوضح المهرجان أن بلانشيت، الحائزة على جائزتي أوسكار وسفيرة النوايا الحسنة للمفوضية السامية لشؤون اللاجئين، ستشارك ضيفة شرف في فعاليات الدورة الثامنة المقررة إقامتها في الفترة من 16 إلى 24 أكتوبر المقبل.
وأشار البيان إلى أن بلانشيت تركت بصمة راسخة في تاريخ السينما العالمية من خلال أعمالها البارزة مثل إليزابيث وبلو جاسمين وTÁR، إلى جانب تعاونها مع كبار المخرجين.
وإلى جانب إنجازاتها الفنية، تواصل النجمة العالمية التزامها الإنساني، وهو ما ينسجم مع شعار المهرجان: «السينما من أجل الإنسانية».
يذكر أن مهرجان الجونة السينمائي اختار 5 أفلام مصرية ضمن فعاليات دورته الثامنة، وذلك دعماً للسينما المصرية والعربية، ومنحها منصة عالمية أمام جمهور من عشاق السينما وصناعها، إلى جانب تعزيز حضور الأصوات السينمائية الواعدة.
The El Gouna Film Festival announced the honoring of global star Cate Blanchett by awarding her the "Humanitarian Hero" award, in recognition of her humanitarian initiatives and ongoing efforts to support the issues of refugees and displaced persons around the world.
In an official statement, the festival clarified that Blanchett, a two-time Oscar winner and Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, will participate as a guest of honor in the events of the eighth edition scheduled to take place from October 16 to 24.
The statement noted that Blanchett has left a lasting mark in the history of global cinema through her outstanding works such as Elizabeth, Blue Jasmine, and TÁR, in addition to her collaborations with renowned directors.
Alongside her artistic achievements, the global star continues her humanitarian commitment, which aligns with the festival's slogan: "Cinema for Humanity."
It is worth mentioning that the El Gouna Film Festival has selected 5 Egyptian films as part of its eighth edition, in support of Egyptian and Arab cinema, providing them with a global platform in front of an audience of cinema lovers and creators, as well as enhancing the presence of promising cinematic voices.
