كشفت إيما هيمينغ ويليس، زوجة الممثل بروس ويليس، تدهور حالته الصحية نتيجة إصابته بالخرف الجبهي الصدغي، بعد أكثر من عامين من تشخيصه.
وفي مقابلة مع قناة ABC قالت هيمينغ: «بروس لا يزال نشيطًا بدنيًا ويتمتع بصحة جيدة بشكل عام، لكن دماغه يخذله، قدرته على الكلام تتدهور، لكننا تعلمنا كيفية التكيف وإيجاد طرق جديدة للتواصل معه»
في عام 2022، أعلنت عائلة ويليس، نجم أفلام Die Hard وThe Sixth Sense، اعتزاله التمثيل بعد تشخيصه بالحبسة الكلامية، وهي اضطراب دماغي يؤثر على القدرة على التحدث أو فهم اللغة.
وأوضحت هيمينغ، أن الأعراض المبكرة شملت صمتًا غير معتاد من بروس، الذي كان معروفًا بحيويته وانخراطه في الحديث، وأضافت: «كان يبدو منعزلاً وأقل دفئًا، على عكس طباعه الودودة والمحببة، مما كان مقلقًا ومخيفًا».
وفي عام 2023، تلقى ويليس، تشخيصًا إضافيًا بالخرف الجبهي الصدغي.
وفي بيان مشترك، أعربت عائلته، التي تضم زوجته إيما وابنتيه وطليقته ديمي مور، عن ارتياحها للحصول على تشخيص واضح رغم الألم الناتج عنه، وقالت هيمينغ، إنها شعرت بالذعر عند سماع التشخيص لأول مرة، واصفة إياه بأنه «كالسقوط الحر».
وعلى الرغم من تدهور حالته، لا يزال ويليس، البالغ من العمر 70 عامًا، يظهر لحظات من شخصيته المرحة.

Emma Heming Willis, the wife of actor Bruce Willis, revealed the deterioration of his health due to frontotemporal dementia, after more than two years since his diagnosis.
In an interview with ABC, Heming said: "Bruce is still physically active and generally in good health, but his brain is failing him; his ability to speak is deteriorating, but we have learned how to adapt and find new ways to communicate with him."
In 2022, the Willis family, including the star of Die Hard and The Sixth Sense, announced his retirement from acting after he was diagnosed with aphasia, a brain disorder that affects the ability to speak or understand language.
Heming explained that the early symptoms included unusual silence from Bruce, who was known for his vivacity and engagement in conversation, adding: "He seemed withdrawn and less warm, unlike his friendly and lovable nature, which was concerning and frightening."
In 2023, Willis received an additional diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
In a joint statement, his family, which includes his wife Emma, their daughters, and his ex-wife Demi Moore, expressed relief at receiving a clear diagnosis despite the pain it brought, with Heming stating that she felt panic upon hearing the diagnosis for the first time, describing it as "like free-falling."
Despite his deteriorating condition, the 70-year-old Willis still shows moments of his cheerful personality.
Heming noted: "We still see moments of his hearty laughter or a sparkle in his eyes, but they come and go quickly, making them painful and poignant."
Heming married Willis in 2009, and they have two daughters. Her book titled "An Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Self on the Caregiving Path" is set to be released on September 9, 2025, in which she recounts her experience caring for her husband.
