American businessman Elon Musk has returned to the trillionaire club, as the strong surge in the shares of "SpaceX" and "Tesla" has pushed his wealth back to over a trillion dollars, in the latest shift in the race among the world's richest individuals.
Forbes estimated Musk's wealth at around one trillion dollars during trading on (Monday), an increase of about 30.6 billion dollars compared to the last trading session, allowing him to maintain the top spot on the list of the world's billionaires with a huge margin over his competitors.
The surge came primarily with the rise of "SpaceX" shares, which increased by more than 7% during the (Monday) session and closed at about 171 dollars, marking its highest close since being listed on the stock market last June, while "Tesla" shares also gained, directly reflecting on the wealth of the founder of both companies.
The rise of "SpaceX" was not just a fleeting market movement, as it followed an optimistic assessment from Morgan Stanley, which maintained its positive recommendation for the stock and set a target price of 300 dollars, considering that the stock appears undervalued when accounting for future growth prospects.
At the same time, investors are awaiting the next phase of the "Starship" program, after the fourteenth test flight achieved a significant milestone by reaching low Earth orbit for the first time and deploying satellites from "Starlink," which has boosted optimism about "SpaceX's" ability to accelerate its space program.
In the automotive sector, "Tesla" received another boost after the company announced the delivery of 486,532 vehicles during the third quarter of 2026, exceeding analysts' expectations of about 456,896 vehicles. These results have rekindled hopes for the company to return to a growth trajectory in annual deliveries after two years of decline.
Musk had become the first person in the world to surpass the trillion-dollar mark last June, following the start of trading for "SpaceX" shares in the American market, but his wealth later declined with the drop in shares of both the company and "Tesla," temporarily distancing him from this record level.
The rise in Musk's wealth largely reflects the nature of his wealth's connection to the value of the companies in which he holds significant stakes; any sharp change in the stock prices of "Tesla" and "SpaceX" can add or subtract tens of billions from his paper wealth within a short period.
Musk's empire expansion is not limited to cars and space, as he continues to push his investments and ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence. He recently announced the renaming of the artificial intelligence unit of "SpaceX" from "SpaceXAI" to "SpaceXSI," referring to the concept of "superintelligence" promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump.
With the rise of "SpaceX" and increasing investor bets on space and artificial intelligence, Musk's wealth appears increasingly tied to projects that go beyond traditional technology sectors, making his position at the top of the list of the world's billionaires susceptible to rapid shifts with every jump or decline in the shares of his companies.
