The leader of the Houthi terrorist militia, Abdul Latif Hamoud Al-Mahdi, known as "Abu Nasr Al-Shaaf," who falsely held the rank of Major General, was killed during the ongoing battles and the liberation of the Bab al-Mandab area.
Field sources informed "Okaz" that Al-Mahdi is considered one of the most prominent leaders in the first tier of the Houthi terrorist militia, overseeing what is called the "Fourth Military Region." They pointed out his connection to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and that he was one of the supervisors of Houthi operations and attacks on the western coast fronts in the past period.
Al-Mahdi hails from Saada Governorate and participated in managing the militia's military operations along the western coast before he was killed today in Bab al-Mandab during operations that resulted in the liberation of Bab al-Mandab and the districts of Dhubab and Al-Mokha in a new blow to the Houthis. According to sources, about three Houthi brigades fell between dead, wounded, and captured.
These developments come at a time when government forces, supported by the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy, continue their advance on the western coast after tightening control over Bab al-Mandab, Dhubab, and Al-Mokha, amid a rapid collapse in Houthi defenses and the flight of their elements from several positions.
According to sources, the battles are heading towards Al-Waziyah and Al-Khokha as part of military operations aimed at completing the security of the western coast, amid a clear decline in their ability to hold their advanced positions.
The transition of operations from Bab al-Mandab and Dhubab to Al-Mokha and then towards Al-Waziyah and Al-Khokha reflects the widening scope of field advances and opens the way for forces to continue restoring coastal areas and tightening the noose around the Houthi terrorist militia, reaching the capital, Sana'a.
