Four astronauts arrived at the International Space Station on Thursday after a journey that took less than eight hours, marking the fastest flight of an American vehicle from launch to docking with the orbital station.
The "Crew-13" mission of the American space agency "NASA" launched aboard the "Dragon" spacecraft from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 11:10 AM local time.
7 hours and 55 minutes
NASA announced that the spacecraft docked with the forward port of the "Harmony" module at the International Space Station at 7:05 PM, just 7 hours and 55 minutes after launch, achieving the fastest time from launch to docking for an American vehicle in the station's history.
The previous record for the fastest American vehicle to the station was 12 hours and 33 minutes, set by the "Dragon" cargo spacecraft in November 2024, while the previous fastest time for a crewed American flight was 14 hours and 43 minutes, recorded by the "Crew-11" mission in August 2025.
4 astronauts for 6 months
The mission includes NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Russian space agency "Roscosmos" astronaut Sergey Tityatnikov.
The crew members are scheduled to spend about six months aboard the International Space Station, participating in research, scientific experiments, and operational and maintenance work on the station.
SpaceX explained that the short duration of the flight was due to the favorable position of the International Space Station at the time of launch and the orbital conditions that allowed the spacecraft to reach it on a faster-than-usual trajectory.
