A strange natural phenomenon in Canada has captured the attention of geologists and observers, after a small island was spotted appearing and disappearing repeatedly within a lake in Ontario, with no conclusive scientific explanation so far.
The island is located in a calm lake surrounded by forests, where local residents have noticed it floating on the water's surface on some days, while completely disappearing on others, as if it is being pulled to the depths and then returning again. Several visitors have documented the scene through photos and videos that have spread on social media platforms.
Geology experts suggest that the island may be a massive cohesive mass of vegetation, or a layer of intertwined roots that move due to changes in water levels and winds, making it appear as a complete island that appears and disappears. Meanwhile, others believe it could be the result of geological activity beneath the lake's surface, although there is no clear evidence of that.
The phenomenon has become a point of attraction for visitors, who flock to see the (ghost) island that changes its location and presence from one night to the next, in a scene that adds a touch of mystery to the serene Canadian nature.
