صرّح المتحدث الرسمي باسم قوات التحالف «تحالف دعم الشرعية في اليمن» اللواء الركن تركي المالكي، أن قوات الدفاع الجوي الملكي السعودي نجحت فجر اليوم السبت الموافق 19 سبتمبر 2026م في اعتراض وتدمير صاروخ باليستي أطلقته الميليشيا الحوثية الإرهابية باتجاه مدينة الرياض.
وأوضح أن تصعيد الميليشيا الحوثية الإرهابية واستمرار محاولاتها استهداف المدنيين والأعيان المدنية في العاصمة الرياض، المدينة التي يسكنها أكثر من ثمانية ملايين مواطن ومقيم، يؤكدان تعنّت هذه الميليشيا وإمعانها في استهداف المدنيين والأعيان المدنية بشكل متعمد وممنهج، في سلوك إرهابي وعدائي.
وأضاف اللواء المالكي أن الميليشيا الحوثية حاولت استهداف المدنيين والأعيان المدنية بمدن (بيش، والطائف، وفرسان، وينبع)، وتم إحباط المحاولات العدائية من قبل الدفاعات الجوية، مؤكدًا الحق الأصيل لقيادة التحالف في اتخاذ ما تراه مناسبًا، وبما يتوافق مع القانون الدولي الإنساني وقواعده العرفية؛ لردع سلوك الميليشيا الحوثية الإرهابية.
