Irina Yousry - the holder of the title of Miss Egypt International - announced her insistence on her right to represent Egypt in the season during which she participated in the Miss Global competition, asserting that she is the only official representative of the country in this edition, and warning against any attempt to replace her with another contestant.
Yousry stated in a post on Instagram: "She retains all her legal rights and the rights associated with the title, emphasizing that any violation may subject the perpetrator to accountability." In her message, she considers herself "the only official queen" in the season of her participation, and that the travel of any other contestant to represent Egypt in the same season is a clear violation. This escalation comes days after she announced her refusal to hand over the crown to the new queen, justifying her position by what she described as a lack of transparency and fairness within the competition.
In response, the Miss Egypt competition administration confirmed that the title Yousry received is Miss Global Egypt; which is a qualifying title for participation in the international competition, and not the official Miss Egypt title. The administration clarified that retaining the title is linked to completing the participation procedures according to the organization's regulations, and that the posters circulating on social media are unofficial and were produced using artificial intelligence techniques.
Despite this clarification, Yousry insisted on her narrative, confirming that the title was officially granted to her during the ceremony and in front of the attendees, and that she will not back down from her position in facing what she describes as attempts to exclude her from representing Egypt in the season in which she participated.
Amidst exchanged statements and conflicting confirmations, the debate remains open regarding the identity of Egypt's official representative in the Miss Global competition, while attention turns to the next steps that both Yousry and the competition administration may take to resolve this dispute.
