لم تكن عطلة عائلية في أحد المنتجعات الساحلية بمدينة ألانيا التركية سوى دقائق قليلة قبل أن تتحول إلى مأساة، بعدما أنهى رجل في التاسعة والثلاثين من عمره حياته إثر قفزة في مياه ضحلة، في حادثة وثقتها كاميرات المراقبة داخل الفندق.
ولقي عارف إرمان، وهو أب لثلاثة أطفال وينحدر من منطقة صبنجة بولاية سكاريا، مصرعه أثناء قضائه عطلته في أحد الفنادق بمنطقة كوناقلي في ألانيا، التابعة لولاية أنطاليا جنوبي تركيا.
ووفقاً لما أوردته وسائل إعلام تركية، اقترب إرمان من حافة البحر ونظر إلى المياه، قبل أن يبتعد خطوات إلى الخلف، ثم اندفع بسرعة متجاوزاً الحاجز الواقي وقفز برأسه إلى البحر، رغم وجود لافتات تحذر من خطورة القفز في المكان.
وأظهرت تسجيلات كاميرات المراقبة لحظة وقوع الحادثة، فيما كشفت التقارير أن عمق المياه في النقطة التي قفز إليها لم يكن يتجاوز نحو 50 سنتيمتراً، ما أدى إلى إصابته بجروح بالغة.
وعلى الفور، سارع أحد المنقذين الموجودين على الرصيف إلى القفز وانتشال إرمان من المياه، قبل أن يقدم له الإسعافات الأولية، ثم جرى نقله بواسطة فرق الطوارئ إلى المستشفى في حالة حرجة.
ورغم محاولات الأطباء إنقاذ حياته، فارق إرمان الحياة متأثراً بإصاباته.
ونُقل جثمانه لاحقاً إلى مسقط رأسه في صبنجة، حيث وُوري الثرى، بينما تواصل السلطات التركية تحقيقاتها للوقوف على ملابسات الحادثة وتفاصيلها.
A family vacation at a coastal resort in the Turkish city of Alanya turned into a tragedy just minutes after it began, when a 39-year-old man ended his life after jumping into shallow waters, in an incident captured by the hotel’s surveillance cameras.
Arif Erman, a father of three from the Sapanca region in Sakarya province, lost his life while spending his holiday at a hotel in the Konaklı area of Alanya, which is part of Antalya province in southern Turkey.
According to Turkish media reports, Erman approached the edge of the sea and looked at the water, before taking a few steps back, then quickly dashed past the safety barrier and jumped headfirst into the sea, despite the presence of signs warning against jumping in that area.
Surveillance camera footage showed the moment of the incident, while reports revealed that the water depth at the point where he jumped was no more than about 50 centimeters, which resulted in him sustaining severe injuries.
Immediately, one of the lifeguards present on the pier jumped in and rescued Erman from the water, before providing him with first aid, and he was then transported by emergency teams to the hospital in critical condition.
Despite the doctors' attempts to save his life, Erman passed away due to his injuries.
His body was later transferred to his hometown in Sapanca, where he was buried, while Turkish authorities continue their investigations to determine the circumstances and details of the incident.
