خيم الصمت التام على أروقة محكمة جنايات القاهرة الجديدة بالتجمع الخامس، حيث حبس الجميع أنفاسهم داخل القاعة المزدحمة لمتابعة الفصل الأخير من القضية المعروفة إعلامياً باسم «المخدرات الكبرى». بين القضبان، لم تكن الأضواء هذه المرة تسلط على الكاميرات وأجهزة الإعلام، بل على الإعلامية والمنتجة سارة خليفة، التي وقفت تواجه أصعب لحظات حياتها.
في المشهد الأكثر دراماتيكية خلال الجلسة، خاضت سارة خليفة محاولة أخيرة للاستعطاف، إذ وقفت أمام هيئة المحكمة بملامح أنهكها التعب، ممسكة بتقارير طبية رسمية خضعت لها تحت إشراف السلطات، لتعلن للمرة الأولى عن إصابتها بـ«ورم خبيث» في عنق الرحم.
وبصوت يملؤه الانكسار، وجهت كلماتها الباكية إلى منصة القضاء قائلة: «طوال عمري لم أدخن سيجارة ولم أسئ لأي إنسان.. لا أفهم سبب محاكمتي، هل لأنني كنت أساعد الجميع؟»
وطالب فريق الدفاع بمراعاة الحالة الصحية الحرجة للمتهمة وتطبيق أقصى درجات الرحمة والإنسانية، دافعين ببطلان إجراءات التحريات والقبض، ومؤكدين خلو هواتفها من أي تسجيلات أو أدلة تشير إلى تورطها، بل وحاولوا الدفع بعدم دستورية بعض مواد جداول المخدرات لإبعاد تهمة التمويل عنها.
ورغم هذه التوسلات الطبية والدفوع القانونية، كانت أوراق القضية رقم 6838 لسنة 2025 تحوي مفاجآت صدمت الحاضرين، حيث كشفت شهادة ضابط التحريات وتفاصيل ملفات التحقيق عن كواليس تشكيل عصابي دولي شديد الخطورة متخصص في جلب وتصنيع المواد المخدرة، تزعمه عراقي هارب ورجل أعمال مصري.
وأظهرت التحقيقات أن دور سارة خليفة لم يكن مجرد حضور عابر، بل اتُّهمت بتوفير التمويل المالي اللازم لشراء المواد الخام المسؤولة عن تخليق المخدرات وتسهيل إدارة الشبكة التي ضمت 28 متهماً، ونجحت الأجهزة الأمنية في ضبط أكثر من 750 كيلوغراماً من المواد المخدرة والمعدات داخل مقر تصنيع تابع للتشكيل.
ولم تفلح محاولات الاستعطاف أمام حجم الأدلة والمضبوطات، ليأتي رد منصة القضاء حاسماً ومدوياً. وبعد استطلاع رأي مفتي الجمهورية المصرية، أعلن القاضي الحكم الذي صدم القاعة: «الإعدام شنقاً بإجماع الآراء لسارة خليفة و12 متهماً آخرين، مع التحفظ الكامل على أموالهم وحساباتهم المصرفية».
وفي حين أُلزم المتهمون الـ13 بظلال حبل المشنقة، تفاوتت الأحكام لبقية عناصر التشكيل بين السجن المؤبد لـ9 متهمين، والبراءة لـ7 آخرين، ليُسدل الستار على واحدة من أضخم قضايا جلب المخدرات التي شغلت الشارع المصري.

Behind bars, the spotlight this time was not on cameras and media devices, but on the media figure and producer Sara Khalifa, who stood facing the most difficult moments of her life.
In the most dramatic scene during the session, Sara Khalifa made one last attempt to plead for mercy, standing before the court with features worn by exhaustion, holding official medical reports she underwent under the supervision of the authorities, to announce for the first time that she had been diagnosed with a "malignant tumor" in her cervix.
With a voice filled with heartbreak, she directed her tearful words to the bench, saying: "Throughout my life, I have never smoked a cigarette nor harmed any person... I do not understand the reason for my trial, is it because I was helping everyone?"
The defense team requested consideration of the defendant's critical health condition and the application of the utmost levels of mercy and humanity, arguing for the invalidation of the investigation and arrest procedures, and confirming that her phones contained no recordings or evidence indicating her involvement. They even attempted to argue the unconstitutionality of some provisions of the drug schedules to absolve her of the funding charge.
Despite these medical pleas and legal defenses, the case files numbered 6838 for the year 2025 contained surprises that shocked those present, as the testimony of the investigating officer and details of the investigation files revealed the behind-the-scenes of a highly dangerous international gang specialized in bringing in and manufacturing narcotic substances, led by a fugitive Iraqi and an Egyptian businessman.
The investigations showed that Sara Khalifa's role was not merely a fleeting presence; she was accused of providing the necessary financial support to purchase the raw materials responsible for synthesizing drugs and facilitating the management of the network that included 28 defendants. Security forces succeeded in seizing more than 750 kilograms of narcotic substances and equipment inside a manufacturing site belonging to the gang.
Attempts to plead for mercy failed in light of the volume of evidence and seizures, leading to a decisive and resounding response from the bench. After consulting the opinion of the Grand Mufti of Egypt, the judge announced the verdict that shocked the courtroom: "Death by hanging unanimously for Sara Khalifa and 12 other defendants, with a complete seizure of their funds and bank accounts."
While the 13 defendants were bound by the shadow of the noose, the sentences for the remaining members of the gang varied between life imprisonment for 9 defendants and acquittal for 7 others, bringing down the curtain on one of the largest drug trafficking cases that captivated the Egyptian street.
