من أروقة الفلسفة في واشنطن إلى أخطر الغرف المغلقة في تاريخ الشرق الأوسط الحديث، يقف الفنان الأمريكي ذو الأصول الفلسطينية وليد زعيتر أمام تحدٍّ درامي هو الأشرس في مشواره الفني، حيث يخلع قناع التمثيل ليتلبس شخصية الرئيس العراقي الراحل صدام حسين في العمل العالمي المرتقب «الهدف» (High Value Target).
العمل الذي يترقبه الملايين لا يعيد سرد السيرة الذاتية التقليدية، بل يغوص مباشرة في كواليس الأيام الملتهبة التي تلت القبض على صدام في ديسمبر 2003. ويرصد المسلسل تفاصيل المواجهات النفسية المظلمة داخل زنزانة الاستجواب، والتناقض الصارخ بين كبرياء الرئاسة المفقود ومرارة الاحتجاز لدى القوات الأمريكية.

ولم يكن اختيار وليد زعيتر محض مصادفة؛ فالرجل الذي ترشح سابقاً للأوسكار عن فيلم «عمر»، ووقف أمام كبار نجوم هوليوود مثل ميريل ستريب وجيرارد بتلر ومورجان فريمان، يملك الخلفية الصارمة والخبرة التي تجعله يختبر أصعب تجربة أداء جسدت شخصية مثيرة للجدل كصدام حسين.

The work, which millions are eagerly awaiting, does not retell the traditional autobiography, but dives directly into the behind-the-scenes of the fiery days following Saddam's capture in December 2003. The series captures the dark psychological confrontations within the interrogation cell, and the stark contradiction between the lost pride of the presidency and the bitterness of detention by American forces.
The strength of this series lies in its direct reliance on the book "Interrogating the President" by author John Nixon, who is the renowned analyst at the CIA who actually conducted the field investigation with Saddam after his arrest, conveying the real dialogues and precise details as they happened behind closed doors without embellishments.
