التفاصيل الحزينة للقصة تبدأ من طلب الفتى المصاب بمرض السكري من زميله في الغرفة إيقاظه في الفجر لأداء الصلاة، وعندما توجه زميله إليه في الموعد الموعود، تفاجأ بجسده بارداً ولا يستجيب إطلاقاً. ورغم هروع المشرفين ومحاولات الإنعاش الرئوي وصولاً لرجال الإسعاف، إلا أن روح الفتى كانت قد فاضت إلى بارئها.
وترجح التقديرات الطبية أن الوفاة نجمت عن هبوط حاد وسريع في مستوى السكر أثناء النوم، رغم أن الفتى كان يتابع بروتوكولاً صحياً خضع فيه لخمسة فحوصات يومية. وسلطت هذه المأساة الضوء مجدداً على الكارثة الإنسانية والضغط الرهيب داخل مراكز رعاية المهاجرين بسبتة، والتي تعاني من تكدس آلاف الأطفال وتجاوز طاقتها الاستيعابية بمئات المرات.

The sad details of the story begin with the boy, who suffered from diabetes, asking his roommate to wake him up at dawn for prayer. When his roommate approached him at the promised time, he was shocked to find his body cold and unresponsive. Despite the rush of supervisors and attempts at resuscitation, including the arrival of paramedics, the boy's soul had already departed to its Creator.
Medical estimates suggest that the death was caused by a sudden and severe drop in blood sugar levels during sleep, even though the boy was following a health protocol that included five daily tests. This tragedy once again highlighted the humanitarian disaster and the tremendous pressure within the migrant care centers in Ceuta, which are suffering from the overcrowding of thousands of children and exceeding their capacity by hundreds of times.
