قُتل شخص وأصيب خمسة آخرون جراء إطلاق نار وقع خلال فعالية في شمالي سويسرا، في الساعات الأولى من صباح (الأحد)، فيما بدأت الشرطة عملية واسعة للبحث عن منفذ الهجوم، الذي لا يزال مجهولًا حتى الآن.
وأعلنت شرطة كانتون أرغاو أن عملية مطاردة المشتبه به جارية، مؤكدة أن دوافع إطلاق النار والظروف الدقيقة التي أحاطت بالواقعة لم تتضح بعد.
وأفادت الشرطة لوسائل إعلام سويسرية، بأن إطلاق النار وقع بالقرب من مضمار لسباق الخيول في منطقة شاخن بمدينة آراو، التي تقع على بعد نحو 46 كيلومترًا (غربي مدينة زيورخ).
وكان من المقرر إقامة فعالية موسيقية من نوع (ريف) في المنطقة واستمرارها حتى الساعات الأولى من صباح الأحد.
وعقب إطلاق النار، فرضت السلطات طوقًا أمنيًا حول المنطقة المحيطة بمضمار السباق، إضافة إلى حمام السباحة والملعب الرياضي في المدينة، فيما دعت الشرطة أفراد الجمهور إلى الابتعاد عن المكان.
وقالت شرطة كانتون أرغاو إنها دفعت بعدد كبير من عناصرها إلى مناطق خارج مدينة آراو أيضًا، كإجراء احترازي، بالتزامن مع استمرار البحث عن منفذ إطلاق النار.
كما ناشدت الشرطة الأشخاص الذين كانوا موجودين في موقع الحادثة، وخصوصًا الشهود، تقديم أي صور أو مقاطع فيديو التقطوها في مكان الواقعة؛ بهدف مساعدة المحققين في تحديد ملابسات الهجوم والوصول إلى الجاني.
وأظهرت صور التُقطت في آراو، خلال الساعات الأولى من صباح الأحد، انتشارًا أمنيًا مكثفًا، مع ظهور مركبة مدرعة وهي تغلق أحد الطرق في المنطقة.
وبحسب هيئة الإذاعة والتلفزيون السويسرية (SRF)، شاركت إلى جانب الشرطة وفرق الإطفاء وحدة الاستجابة للكوارث الإقليمية، في التعامل مع تداعيات الحادث والعملية الأمنية.
كما أفادت الهيئة بأن مروحية تابعة للجيش السويسري شوهدت في الساعات الأولى من صباح الأحد وهي تحلق فوق المنطقة وتقوم بمراقبة الموقع، بالتزامن مع العملية الأمنية واسعة النطاق.
ولم تعلن السلطات حتى الآن عن هوية الضحية أو المصابين، كما لم تكشف عن تفاصيل بشأن حالتهم الصحية أو هوية المشتبه به، في انتظار استكمال التحقيقات وتحديد دوافع إطلاق النار والظروف الدقيقة التي أدت إلى وقوعه.
A person was killed and five others were injured due to gunfire that occurred during an event in northern Switzerland in the early hours of Sunday morning, while police launched a large-scale operation to search for the attacker, who remains unknown so far.
The Aargau canton police announced that a manhunt for the suspect is underway, confirming that the motives for the shooting and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear.
Police reported to Swiss media that the shooting took place near a horse racing track in the Schachen area of the city of Aarau, which is located about 46 kilometers west of Zurich.
A music event of the "Riff" genre was scheduled to take place in the area and was set to continue until the early hours of Sunday.
Following the shooting, authorities imposed a security cordon around the area surrounding the racetrack, as well as the swimming pool and sports field in the city, while police urged the public to stay away from the location.
The Aargau canton police stated that they deployed a large number of their personnel to areas outside the city of Aarau as a precautionary measure, coinciding with the ongoing search for the shooter.
The police also appealed to individuals who were present at the scene of the incident, especially witnesses, to provide any photos or videos they captured at the location; in order to assist investigators in determining the circumstances of the attack and identifying the perpetrator.
Images taken in Aarau during the early hours of Sunday showed a heavy security presence, with an armored vehicle seen blocking one of the roads in the area.
According to Swiss Radio and Television (SRF), in addition to the police and fire teams, a regional disaster response unit participated in dealing with the aftermath of the incident and the security operation.
The agency also reported that a helicopter belonging to the Swiss army was seen flying over the area in the early hours of Sunday, monitoring the site in conjunction with the large-scale security operation.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the victim or the injured, nor have they provided details regarding their health status or the identity of the suspect, pending the completion of investigations and the determination of the motives for the shooting and the exact circumstances that led to it.
