وأفادت الشرطة في زيمبابوي بأن حصيلة الوفيات ارتفعت إلى 84 شخصاً، عقب انتشال المزيد من الجثث، فيما أعلنت وكالة إدارة الكوارث إنقاذ 77 شخصاً.
وكانت العبّارة قد تحطّمت وسط أمواج عاتية يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، وتشير التقديرات الأولية إلى أنها كانت تقل 153 شخصاً، رغم أن طاقتها الاستيعابية لا تتجاوز 90 شخصاً، فيما أشارت أحدث البيانات إلى احتمال أن يكون عدد الركاب أكبر من التقديرات الأولية.
وأوضحت الشرطة أن عمليات البحث لا تزال متواصلة للعثور على المفقودين.
