في ليلة حبست الأنفاس داخل العاصمة اليونانية أثينا، أسدلت محكمة الجنايات الستار على التحقيقات الماراثونية في واحدة من أسوأ كوارث الصيف، بقرار صادم قضى بمسح النفوذ السياسي والإتجار به جانباً، وإلقاء رئيس بلدية بارز ورجل أعمال نافذ خلف الأسوار رهن الحبس الاحتياطي.
اتهامات ثقيلة طالت المسؤولين تتسارع عقوبتها نحو السجن المشدد لأكثر من 10 سنوات، بعدما تحوّل قرار إداري وحفنة كابلات كهربائية إلى شرارة جهنمية أحرقت الأخضر واليابس، وحوّلت 11 ألف هكتار من الأراضي والمنتجعات الساحلية إلى ساحة رماد.
اللغز كله بدأ من قرية «أيوس فاسيليوس» الساحلية عند سفح الجبل، وتحديداً داخل «مزرعة رياح» ظل السكان يطلقون عليها «المزرعة الملعونة»، وقاضوا أصحابها لسنوات طويلة لمنع إنشائها دون جدوى.
وأثبتت التحقيقات الأمنية أن التحذيرات المنسية كانت في محلها، حيث أطلق كابل كهربائي تالف يتبع الشركة الخاصة بشرارة خاطفة، قبل أن تتكفل رياح عاتية ضربت المنطقة بسرعة 130 كيلومترا في الساعة بفتح أبواب الجحيم، لينتقل اللهب كالنار في الهشيم ويلتهم الجبل بأكمله في ساعات معدودة.
ولم تتوقف المأساة عند تفحم بساتين الزيتون وغابات الصنوبر، بل هاجمت النيران منتجع «بورتو جيرمينو» الساحلي، لتلتهم أكثر من 120 مسكناً ومبنى وتحول حلم العطلات الصيفية إلى كابوس أسود.
ومع خروج رئيس الوزراء كيرياكوس ميتسوتاكيس متعهداً ببدء رحلة التجديد الطبيعي الشاقة، أدرك الشارع اليوناني أن ملف هذه المزرعة لم يعد مجرد حادثة سير طبيعية، بل «جريمة بيئية» كبرى بدأت بالاستهانة بتحذيرات البسطاء، وانتهت بمسؤول بارز ورجل أعمال يواجهان مصيراً مظلماً خلف الزنزانة.

The whole mystery began in the coastal village of "Aios Vasilios" at the foot of the mountain, specifically inside a "wind farm" that residents have long referred to as "the cursed farm," and they sued its owners for many years to prevent its establishment, to no avail.
Investigations revealed that the forgotten warnings were indeed valid, as a damaged electrical cable belonging to the company sparked a flash, before fierce winds hitting the area at speeds of 130 kilometers per hour opened the gates of hell, allowing the flames to spread like wildfire and consume the entire mountain in just a few hours.
The tragedy did not stop at the charring of olive groves and pine forests; the flames also attacked the coastal resort of "Porto Germino," devouring more than 120 homes and buildings, turning the dream of summer vacations into a black nightmare.
As Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emerged pledging to begin the arduous journey of natural renewal, the Greek public realized that the file of this farm was no longer just a natural accident, but rather a major "environmental crime" that began with the disregard for the warnings of the simple people and ended with a prominent official and a businessman facing a dark fate behind bars.
