The authorities in Guatemala issued a "danger" level alert, which is the second level after the red alert, following the eruption of the Fuego volcano near the capital, which expelled volcanic lava and thick clouds of gas and ash.
The National Disaster Reduction Authority in Guatemala announced yesterday a national orange alert (danger) due to the eruption of the Fuego volcano, noting the evacuation of residents from two nearby small villages.
