لم يكن الدخان الكثيف الذي خنق سماء منطقة «بساثا» غربي أثينا هو المشهد الأكثر رعباً اليوم (الأحد)، بل ذلك الصوت المدوّي الذي شق عنان السماء حين تحولت مهمة بطولية لترويض النيران إلى فاجعة جوية. ففي لحظة تحبس الأنفاس، اصطدمت مروحيتان للإطفاء وجهاً لوجه وسط سحب الدخان العمياء، ليسقط أبطال الإنقاذ ضحايا في ساحة معركة لا ترحم.
هذه ليست مجرد حادثة طيران، بل دراما مأساوية لأبطال ذهبوا لإطفاء الموت على الأرض، فباغتهم في السماء!
رقصة الموت بين السحاب.. كيف وقعت الكارثة؟
كانت المهمة واضحة، وتتمثل في إخماد بؤر النيران الشرسة التي تزحف نحو العاصمة. لكن في بيئة تنعدم فيها الرؤية بسبب الدخان الخانق، تحولت المناورات الجوية المعقدة إلى فخ مميت.
- الاصطدام القاتل؛ وسط فوضى الحريق العنيف، فقدت المروحيتان مساريهما لتصطدما بقوة في الهواء الطلق، في مشهد حبس أنفاس فرق الإنقاذ المتابعة من الأرض.
- قدران مختلفان؛ أسفرت الكارثة عن تحطم إحدى المروحيتين ومصرع فردين من طاقمها في الحال، بينما كُتبت النجاة لطاقم المروحية الثانية الذي تم انتشاله في عملية إنقاذ سريعة قبل أن تلتهمه النيران.
ولم تكن فاجعة المروحيتين سوى ذروة الألم في أسبوع وصفته فرق الإنقاذ بـ«الدامي»، فاليونان لا تخسر غاباتها فحسب، بل تنزف أرواح خيرة رجالها.
- ضحايا الواجب؛ قبل سقوط المروحيتين، ابتلعت النيران ثلاثة من عناصر الإطفاء الشجعان؛ اثنان منهم واجها الموت في جزيرة «كريت»، والثالث سقط في الخطوط الأمامية بشبه جزيرة «بيلوبونيز».
- حرب استنزاف؛ تخوض طواقم الإطفاء معركة غير متكافئة، وتعمل على مدار الساعة وسط إرهاق شديد وخطر يتربص بهم جواً وبراً.
وتأتي هذه التضحيات الجسيمة في وقت تقف اليونان على أطراف أصابعها تحت وطأة «الإنذار الأحمر»، مع دخول الكارثة البيئية أسبوعها الثاني.
- أرقام مفزعة؛ كشف المرصد الوطني للمناخ عن تفحم أكثر من 12 ألف هكتار من الأراضي، متحولة إلى رماد أسود يغطي الخريطة.
- الزحف نحو العاصمة؛ تتركز أشرس المعارك في منطقة خليج كورينث، حيث التهمت ألسنة اللهب مساحات واسعة قرب قرية «بورتو جيرمينو» الساحلية، لتدق أجراس الخطر مع اقتراب النيران من محيط أثينا.
ويمكن الخلوص إلى أنهم بينما كانوا يسكبون الحياة على غابات اليونان المحترقة، خطف الموت أرواحهم في السماء.. لتبقى كارثة اصطدام المروحيتين الشاهد الأقسى على الثمن الباهظ لترويض حرائق الغابات!

In a breath-holding moment, two firefighting helicopters collided head-on amidst the blind clouds of smoke, turning the rescuers into victims in a merciless battlefield.
This is not just an aviation incident, but a tragic drama of heroes who went to extinguish death on the ground, only to be ambushed in the sky!
The Dance of Death Among the Clouds.. How Did the Disaster Occur?
The mission was clear: to extinguish the fierce fire hotspots creeping toward the capital. But in an environment where visibility was nonexistent due to the choking smoke, complex aerial maneuvers turned into a deadly trap.
- The fatal collision; amidst the chaos of the violent fire, the two helicopters lost their paths and collided violently in open air, in a scene that left the ground rescue teams breathless.
- Different fates; the disaster resulted in the crash of one helicopter and the immediate death of two crew members, while the crew of the second helicopter was rescued in a swift operation before the flames could consume them.
The tragedy of the two helicopters was merely the peak of the pain in a week described by rescue teams as "bloody," as Greece is not only losing its forests but also bleeding the souls of its finest men.
- Victims of duty; before the helicopters fell, the flames had already claimed the lives of three brave firefighters; two faced death on the island of "Crete," while the third fell on the front lines in the Peloponnese peninsula.
- A war of attrition; firefighting crews are engaged in an unequal battle, working around the clock amidst extreme exhaustion and danger lurking from the air and land.
These immense sacrifices come at a time when Greece is on high alert under the weight of a "red alert," as the environmental disaster enters its second week.
