شهدت محافظة الإسماعيلية فجر اليوم (الجمعة)، حالة من الاستنفار عقب وقوع تسريب محدود لغاز الكلور بمحطة مياه الإسماعيلية المرشحة بطريق أم كلثوم، ما أسفر عن إصابة 107 أشخاص بحالات اختناق، قبل أن تنجح الأجهزة التنفيذية وفرق الطوارئ في السيطرة الكاملة على الحادثة.
وبحسب بيان رسمي صادر عن محافظة الإسماعيلية، فإن الشبكة الوطنية للطوارئ والسلامة العامة تلقت بلاغًا في تمام الساعة الثالثة والنصف فجرًا يفيد بحدوث تسريب لغاز الكلور أثناء التشغيل التجريبي للمحطة، نتيجة كسر مفاجئ بإحدى أسطوانات الكلور المستخدمة في تعقيم مياه الشرب.
وعلى الفور، دفعت الجهات المختصة بـ15 سيارة إسعاف وسيارات للحماية المدنية إلى موقع الحادثة، كما تم فرض كردون أمني بمحيط المحطة، مع استخدام مكبرات الصوت بالمساجد لتنبيه الأهالي واتخاذ الإجراءات الوقائية اللازمة.
وأكدت المحافظة نقل جميع المصابين إلى المجمع الطبي بالإسماعيلية لتلقي الإسعافات والرعاية الطبية العاجلة، مشيرة إلى أن الحالات تراوحت بين اختناقات خفيفة ومتوسطة، فيما تماثل الجميع للشفاء وغادروا المستشفى بعد ساعات قليلة من الحادثة.
وأوضحت السلطات أن أعمال الإصلاح انتهت نحو الساعة الرابعة والربع صباحًا، بينما تم إعلان انتهاء التسريب بشكل كامل في تمام الخامسة والربع صباحًا، مع التأكيد على سلامة مياه الشرب وعدم تأثرها بالحادث.
من جانبها، أكدت الجهات التنفيذية استمرار المتابعة الفنية لمحطات المياه ورفع درجة الاستعداد تحسبًا لأي طوارئ، مع فتح تحقيق فني للوقوف على أسباب الكسر المفاجئ في أسطوانة الكلور ومنع تكرار الواقعة مستقبلًا.
The Ismailia Governorate witnessed a state of alert early this morning (Friday) following a limited leak of chlorine gas at the Ismailia water treatment station on the Umm Kulthum road, resulting in 107 people suffering from cases of suffocation, before the executive authorities and emergency teams successfully gained full control over the incident.
According to an official statement issued by the Ismailia Governorate, the National Emergency and Public Safety Network received a report at 3:30 AM indicating a chlorine gas leak during the trial operation of the station, due to a sudden break in one of the chlorine cylinders used for disinfecting drinking water.
Immediately, the relevant authorities dispatched 15 ambulances and civil protection vehicles to the scene of the incident, and a security cordon was imposed around the station, with loudspeakers in mosques used to alert residents and take necessary precautionary measures.
The governorate confirmed that all the injured were transported to the Ismailia Medical Complex for first aid and urgent medical care, noting that the cases ranged from mild to moderate suffocation, while all have recovered and left the hospital a few hours after the incident.
The authorities clarified that repair work was completed around 4:15 AM, while the leak was officially declared over at 5:15 AM, confirming the safety of drinking water and that it was not affected by the incident.
For its part, the executive authorities confirmed the continuation of technical monitoring of water stations and raised the state of readiness in anticipation of any emergencies, while opening a technical investigation to determine the causes of the sudden break in the chlorine cylinder and to prevent the recurrence of the incident in the future.
