حثّ الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب منتخب إيران على عدم المشاركة في كأس العالم 2026، حرصاً على سلامته، رغم ترحيبه بمشاركته في البطولة التي ستقام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك.
وكتب ترمب على منصته «تروث سوشيال»: «نرحب بمشاركة المنتخب الإيراني لكرة القدم في كأس العالم، لكنني لا أعتقد أنه من المناسب أن يكونوا هناك، من أجل حياتهم وسلامتهم».
موقف إيران من المشاركة
وكان وزير الرياضة الإيراني أحمد دنيامالي قد صرح أمس الأول (الأربعاء)، أن إيران لا يمكنها المشاركة في المونديال بعد أن شنت الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل غارات جوية ضد طهران.

ويوجد المنتخب الإيراني في المجموعة السابعة ببطولة كأس العالم 2026 إلى جانب منتخبات مصر وبلجيكا ونيوزيلندا.
U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iran's national team not to participate in the 2026 World Cup, for their safety, despite welcoming their participation in the tournament that will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Trump wrote on his platform "Truth Social": "We welcome the participation of the Iranian national football team in the World Cup, but I don't think it is appropriate for them to be there, for their lives and safety."
Iran's Stance on Participation
Iranian Sports Minister Ahmad Danyamali stated the day before yesterday (Wednesday) that Iran cannot participate in the World Cup after the United States and Israel launched airstrikes against Tehran.

The Iranian national team is in Group G of the 2026 World Cup alongside the teams from Egypt, Belgium, and New Zealand.
