وأفادت هيئة الأبحاث الجيوفيزيائية الموحدة التابعة للأكاديمية الروسية للعلوم، بأن الزلزال وقع على بعد (143) كيلومترًا من بتروبافلوفسك-كامتشاتسكي وعلى عمق (59.4) كيلومترًا.
يذكر أنه في 30 يوليو 2025، شهدت شبه جزيرة كامتشاتكا أقوى زلزال منذ عام 1952 بقوة (8.8) درجة على مقياس ريختر، ومنذ ذلك الحين يسجل العلماء الهزات الارتدادية يوميًّا، دون أن يُشعر بمعظمها في المناطق المأهولة بالسكان.
A magnitude (6.4) earthquake struck today (Thursday) off the coast of Kamchatka in the far east of Russia.
The Unified Geophysical Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that the earthquake occurred (143) kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of (59.4) kilometers.
It is worth mentioning that on July 30, 2025, the Kamchatka Peninsula experienced the strongest earthquake since 1952, measuring (8.8) on the Richter scale, and since then, scientists have been recording aftershocks daily, most of which are not felt in populated areas.
