شهدت مياه خليج جالفستون بولاية تكساس حادثة مأساوية، إذ تحطمت طائرة صغيرة تابعة للبحرية المكسيكية، ما أسفر عن مقتل أربعة أشخاص، وسط حالة من الغموض حول سبب التحطم، فيما تتواصل جهود السلطات المحلية لتحديد الملابسات.
وأعلنت شرطة مقاطعة جالفستون بولاية تكساس، أمس (الإثنين)، مقتل أربعة أشخاص في حادثة تحطم طائرة صغيرة في خليج جالفستون بالقرب من قاعدة الجسر في المدينة.
وأوضحت السلطات أن الطائرة كانت متجهة إلى جالفستون عند وقوع الحادثة، فيما لا يزال سبب التحطم مجهولاً حتى الآن.
وأشار مدير مطار جالفستون إلى أن الطائرة كانت تقل ثمانية أشخاص، بينهم ستة ركاب وطياران. وأفاد قائد شرطة المقاطعة بأن من بين الركاب مرضى حروق متجهين إلى جالفستون، دون تحديد عددهم بدقة.
ويعمل مسؤولو إدارة السلامة العامة في تكساس (DPS) بالتعاون مع عدة وكالات أخرى، لتقديم الدعم الفني وإجراء التحقيقات اللازمة لتحديد ملابسات الحادثة وظروفها بدقة.

Galveston County Police in Texas announced yesterday (Monday) that four people were killed in a small plane crash in Galveston Bay near the bridge base in the city.
Authorities clarified that the aircraft was heading to Galveston at the time of the incident, while the cause of the crash remains unknown so far.
The director of Galveston Airport indicated that the plane was carrying eight people, including six passengers and two pilots. The county sheriff reported that among the passengers were burn patients heading to Galveston, without specifying their exact number.
Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) are working in collaboration with several other agencies to provide technical support and conduct necessary investigations to accurately determine the circumstances and conditions of the incident.
