ظهر نيك راينر، ابن المخرج والممثل الهوليوودي الشهير روب راينر وزوجته المنتجة والمصورة ميشيل راينر، لأول مرة أمام المحكمة، أمس (الأربعاء)، في مواجهة تهمتَي قتل عمد بسبب طعن والديه حتى الموت في منزلهما الفاخر بمنطقة برينتوود في لوس أنجلوس نهاية الأسبوع الماضي.
وتم تأجيل جلسة الاستماع إلى 7 يناير القادم، ولم يدلِ نيك راينر (32 عاماً) بأي إفادة أو دفاع عن نفسه، وظهر بلحية كثة مرتدياً سترة واقية زرقاء، بعد ثلاثة أيام فقط من اعتقاله ويوم واحد من توجيه التهم إليه، في واحدة من أكثر جرائم القتل الصادمة المتعلقة بمشاهير هوليوود في تاريخ المدينة.
نيك راينر متهم بقتل والديه
ويُتهم نيك راينر بطعن والديه طعناً قاتلاً في ساعات الصباح الباكر من يوم الأحد، ثم الفرار من موقع الجريمة.
وتم اكتشاف جثتَي الزوجين بعد ظهر ذلك اليوم، وكان روب راينر (78 عاماً) أيقونة سينمائية، وميشيل راينر (70 عاماً) مصورة ومنتجة بارزة.
واعتُقل نيك في حديقة عامة بوسط لوس أنجلوس قرب جامعة جنوب كاليفورنيا مساء الأحد، دون مقاومة، وهو محتجز حالياً دون كفالة.
وإذا أُدين بالتهم الموجهة إليه، قد يواجه نيك عقوبة السجن المؤبد دون إمكانية الإفراج المشروط، أو حتى عقوبة الإعدام.
في سياق متصل، أعلن المدعي العام لمقاطعة لوس أنجلوس، ناثان هوكمان، أن مكتبه لم يقرر بعد ما إذا كان سيطالب بعقوبة الإعدام، ومع أن كاليفورنيا تفرض تعليقاً على تنفيذ أحكام الإعدام منذ 2019 بأمر تنفيذي من الحاكم غافين نيوسوم، إلا أن العقوبة لا تزال مدرجة في القانون.
أداة الجريمة
وأكدت السلطات استخدام سكين في الجريمة، لكنها لم تكشف تفاصيل إضافية عن الظروف أو الدافع المحتمل، ولم تذكر ما إذا كان تعاطي المخدرات عاملاً.
خلاف عائلي
ومع ذلك، ذكرت تقارير إعلامية أن نيك تشاجر بحدة مع والديه مساء السبت خلال حفل عطلة استضافه الكوميدي كونان أوبراين.
نيك راينر تحدث علناً سابقاً عن معاناته الطويلة مع إدمان المخدرات منذ سن الـ15، وفترات التشرد التي مر بها عندما رفض العلاج.

The hearing has been postponed to January 7, and Nick Reiner (32 years old) did not provide any statement or defense for himself. He appeared with a thick beard wearing a blue protective vest, just three days after his arrest and one day after the charges were filed against him, in one of the most shocking murder cases involving Hollywood celebrities in the city's history.

Nick was arrested in a public park in downtown Los Angeles near the University of Southern California on Sunday evening without resistance and is currently being held without bail.
If convicted of the charges against him, Nick could face life in prison without the possibility of parole, or even the death penalty.
In related news, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced that his office has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty. Although California has had a moratorium on executing death sentences since 2019 by executive order from Governor Gavin Newsom, the penalty remains on the books.

Authorities confirmed that a knife was used in the crime, but they did not disclose additional details about the circumstances or possible motive, nor did they mention whether drug use was a factor.
Family Dispute
However, media reports indicated that Nick had a heated argument with his parents on Saturday evening during a holiday party hosted by comedian Conan O'Brien.
Nick Reiner has previously spoken publicly about his long struggle with drug addiction since the age of 15 and the periods of homelessness he experienced when he refused treatment.
