وقعت الحادثة في حي تقسيم السياحي بإسطنبول، حيث كانت الأسرة الألمانية تقضي عطلة قصيرة. وصلت الأم «أنا بيتر» مع طفليها يوم 12 نوفمبر، وتناولوا وجبة عشاء في مطعم يقدم أطباقاً تركية تقليدية. بدأت الأعراض –غثيان شديد، إسهال وقيء– بعد ساعات قليلة، وتم نقل الأسرة إلى مستشفى خاص، إلا أن الأم توفيت صباح الخميس وتلاها الطفلان في غضون ساعات.
التحقيقات الطبية
أكد تونتش أن الوفاة قد تكون ناجمة عن جراثيم مثل السالمونيلا أو الإشريكية القولونية، لكن التحقيقات مستمرة لاستبعاد أي جريمة أو إهمال متعمد. وتم نقل الجثث إلى معهد الطب الشرعي لإجراء تشريح دقيق.
ردود الفعل الدولية
أعربت السفارة الألمانية في أنقرة عن صدمتها العميقة وطالبت بتحقيق شفاف. وأوضحت أن الأسرة كانت من ولاية بافاريا، وأن الزوج/الأب في ألمانيا وسيصل إسطنبول قريباً لاستلام الجثث.

Symptoms – severe nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting – began a few hours later, and the family was taken to a private hospital, but the mother died on Thursday morning, followed by the two children within hours.
Medical Investigations
Tunç confirmed that the deaths may have been caused by bacteria such as salmonella or E. coli, but investigations are ongoing to rule out any crime or deliberate negligence. The bodies have been transferred to the forensic institute for a thorough autopsy.
International Reactions
The German embassy in Ankara expressed its deep shock and called for a transparent investigation. It clarified that the family was from Bavaria, and that the husband/father is in Germany and will arrive in Istanbul soon to claim the bodies.
