أعلنت أوكرانيا توقيف عشرة مشتبه بهم في أوكرانيا ومولدوفا في إطار تحقيق حول خطط لاغتيال مسؤولين كبار رصدت روسيا مكافآت تصل إلى 100 ألف دولار مقابل قتلهم.
وسبق أن اتهمت كييف موسكو بتدبير عمليات اغتيال بين من تستهدفهم الرئيس فولوديمير زيلينسكي ورئيس أجهزة الاستخبارات.
وقال المدعي العام الأوكراني رسلان كرافتشنكو في بيان، اليوم(الجمعة): إنه في إطار عمل فريق تحقيق مشترك لقوات الأمن الأوكرانية والمولدافية، تم التعرف إلى مجموعة منظمة كانت تعد عمليات اغتيال مدبّرة لمواطنين أوكرانيين معروفين وأجانب.
وجرت نحو 20 عملية دهم تم خلالها ضبط مبالغ مالية وأسلحة ومتفجرات ومعدات اتصال، بحسب المصدر. وأوقف سبعة مشتبه بهم في أوكرانيا وثلاثة آخرون بينهم منسق المجموعة في مولدوفا.
وأكدت مولدوفا في بيان أن تحقيقاً كشف خططا «للتصفية الجسدية لعدد من الشخصيات العامة في أوكرانيا».
ولم تحدد أوكرانيا سوى واحد من الشخصيات المستهدفة بهذا المخطط، وهو أندريي يوسوف، المسؤول في قسم الاتصالات الإستراتيجية في القوات الأوكرانية والذي ينسق عمليات تبادل الأسرى مع روسيا.
وأوضح المدعي العام أن الطرف الروسي عرض على المنفذين ما يصل إلى 100 ألف دولار لكل عملية، موضحاً أن المبلغ يتوقّف على مدى شهرة الضحية المحتملة ونفوذها.
وأعلنت أوكرانيا مسؤوليتها عن عدد من هذه الاغتيالات وبرّرتها بدور الأشخاص المستهدفين في الحرب التي تشنها روسيا عليها منذ نحو أربع سنوات.
Ukraine announced the arrest of ten suspects in Ukraine and Moldova as part of an investigation into plans to assassinate senior officials, for whom Russia has offered rewards of up to $100,000 for their killings.
Kyiv had previously accused Moscow of orchestrating assassination operations targeting figures including President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the intelligence services.
Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko stated in a statement today (Friday) that, as part of a joint investigation team of Ukrainian and Moldovan security forces, an organized group was identified that was preparing orchestrated assassination operations against well-known Ukrainian and foreign citizens.
About 20 raids were conducted during which cash, weapons, explosives, and communication equipment were seized, according to the source. Seven suspects were arrested in Ukraine and three others, including the group's coordinator in Moldova.
Moldova confirmed in a statement that an investigation revealed plans for the "physical elimination of several public figures in Ukraine."
Ukraine only identified one of the targeted individuals in this scheme, Andriy Yusov, an official in the strategic communications department of the Ukrainian forces who coordinates prisoner exchange operations with Russia.
The prosecutor general explained that the Russian side offered the perpetrators up to $100,000 for each operation, noting that the amount depended on the potential victim's fame and influence.
Ukraine has claimed responsibility for several of these assassinations, justifying them by the role of the targeted individuals in the war that Russia has been waging against Ukraine for nearly four years.
