تتجه أنظار العالم الليلة إلى الجيزة حيث تنطلق احتفالات افتتاح المتحف المصري الكبير في حدث يوصف بأنه الأضخم في تاريخ الثقافة العالمية الحديثة، إذ يُبث الحفل مباشرة عبر عدد من القنوات المصرية والعربية والعالمية ليصل إلى ملايين المشاهدين في مختلف الدول.

وبحسب الإعلان الرسمي، يبدأ البث المباشر في تمام الساعة الـ6:00 مساءً بتوقيت القاهرة (الـ7:00 بتوقيت السعودية) عبر مجموعة من القنوات هي: قناة الحياة، DMC، ON، وCBC، في تغطية موحدة تنقل لحظة بلحظة أجواء الافتتاح من داخل المتحف وأمام واجهته المطلة على الأهرامات.
وأكدت شركة المتحدة للخدمات الإعلامية أن إشارات البث ستُتاح مجاناً لجميع وسائل الإعلام حول العالم، حرصاً على أن يتمكن أكبر عدد ممكن من المشاهدين من متابعة تفاصيل الحدث لحظة وقوعه.
ومن المتوقع أن يشهد الافتتاح عروضاً فنية وموسيقية مبهرة تجمع بين التراث المصري القديم والتقنيات الحديثة، ليكون هذا المساء احتفالاً بالهوية المصرية وتاريخها الممتد منذ آلاف السنين.
