عادت فضائح هوليوود إلى الواجهة بعدما أصدرت محكمة لوس أنجلوس حكمًا يقضي بسجن المنتج الأمريكي ديفيد براين بيرس لمدة 146 عامًا، بعد إدانته بقتل عارضة الأزياء كريستي جايلز وصديقتها هيلدا كابراليس-أرزولا، إلى جانب ارتكابه سبعة اغتصابات أخرى في سلسلة من الاعتداءات الجنسية التي استمرت أكثر من 15 عامًا.
التحقيقات كشفت أن المنتج الأمريكي (42 عامًا) التقى الضحيتين خلال حفلة داخل مستودع شرقي لوس أنجلوس في نوفمبر 2021، ثم اصطحبهما إلى شقته الفاخرة في بيفرلي هيلز، حيث قدّم لهما مزيجًا من المخدرات الفتاكة تسبب في وفاتهما خلال ساعات.
وبدلاً من طلب المساعدة، قام المتهم بالتخلص من جثتيهما سرًا أمام مستشفيين مختلفين قبل أن يحاول الهرب، في مشهد يوصف بأنه «سيناريو من فيلم رعب واقعي».
وخلال المحاكمة، تبيّن أن بيرس كان ينظّم حفلات خاصة لجذب عارضات الأزياء الشابات تحت ستار العمل الفني، لكنه في الحقيقة كان يمارس نمطًا متكرّرًا من التخدير والاعتداء على ضحاياه.
ووصفت القاضية إليانور هنتر المتهم بأنه «خطر اجتماعي لا يمكن إصلاحه»، فيما قال المدعي العام ناثان هوشمان: «إنه مغتصب متسلسل وقاتل بدم بارد استغل الشهرة والفن ليبني إمبراطورية من الرعب».
الحكم التاريخي يعد من أقسى الأحكام في تاريخ هوليوود، وأعاد إلى الواجهة الجدل حول العنف والاستغلال في صناعة الترفيه الأمريكية، خصوصًا بعد فضيحة نجم الراب شون ديدي كومز، الذي يواجه هو الآخر اتهامات مشابهة بالاعتداء والعنف الجنسي.
The Hollywood scandals have resurfaced after a Los Angeles court sentenced American producer David Brian Pierce to 146 years in prison for the murder of model Kristi Giles and her friend Hilda Cabrales-Arzola, along with committing seven other rapes in a series of sexual assaults that lasted over 15 years.
Investigations revealed that the 42-year-old American producer met the victims at a party inside an East Los Angeles warehouse in November 2021, then took them to his luxury apartment in Beverly Hills, where he provided them with a mixture of lethal drugs that caused their deaths within hours.
Instead of seeking help, the accused secretly disposed of their bodies in front of two different hospitals before attempting to flee, in a scene described as a "scenario from a real-life horror movie."
During the trial, it became clear that Pierce organized private parties to lure young models under the guise of artistic work, but in reality, he was engaging in a repeated pattern of drugging and assaulting his victims.
Judge Eleanor Hunter described the defendant as "a social danger that cannot be rehabilitated," while prosecutor Nathan Hochman stated: "He is a serial rapist and cold-blooded killer who exploited fame and art to build an empire of horror."
The historic ruling is one of the harshest sentences in Hollywood history and has reignited the debate over violence and exploitation in the American entertainment industry, especially following the scandal involving rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is also facing similar allegations of assault and sexual violence.
