لا تزال لعبة «روبلوكس» تثير عاصفة من الجدل في العراق، فبعد أسبوع فقط على صدور قرار حظرها، أعلنت وزارة الداخلية العراقية قضية مرعبة تورّط فيها مراهق استخدم اللعبة لتجنيد ضحاياه ودفعهم إلى الانتحار الجماعي.
وذكرت الوزارة في بيان رسمي أن المتهم تسبب في انتحار 30 شخصاً من داخل العراق وخارجه، بعدما استدرجهم عبر منصة «روبلوكس» لتنفيذ طقوس غريبة تنطوي على إيذاء الذات وكتابة الأسماء بالدم على الأجساد.
وقال مدير مديرية مكافحة الاتجار بالبشر اللواء مصطفى الياسري إن المشتبه به مارس عمليات استدراج مروّعة، إذ كان يقنع ضحاياه بإيذاء أنفسهم وتصوير أفعالهم، بل وصل به الأمر إلى التحريض على العنف والانتحار وحرق الحيوانات ضمن تحديات «شيطانية» داخل اللعبة.
وأوضحت السلطات أن ضحايا المتهم ينتمون إلى دول عربية وأجنبية مختلفة، مشيرة إلى أن آخرهم كانت فتاة عراقية مراهقة أقدمت على الانتحار تنفيذًا لتعليماته، ما عجّل بكشف خيوط القضية.
ودعت وزارة الداخلية أولياء الأمور إلى مراقبة أبنائهم أثناء استخدام الإنترنت والألعاب الإلكترونية، محذّرة من مخاطر الألعاب الافتراضية التي تتيح تواصلاً مباشراً بين المستخدمين وتفتح الباب أمام الابتزاز والاستغلال الإلكتروني.
ويأتي هذا التطور المروّع بعد أيام من قرار السلطات العراقية حظر لعبة «روبلوكس» في 20 أكتوبر الجاري، بسبب ما تحويه من إيحاءات جنسية وألفاظ نابية وسلوكيات تتنافى مع القيم المجتمعية، إضافة إلى مخاوف من استخدامها في استدراج الأطفال والمراهقين.
وأكدت الحكومة العراقية حينها أن الحظر جاء حرصاً على حماية الأمن المجتمعي وصون القيم الأخلاقية، لافتة إلى أن اللعبة تشكل «خطرًا مباشرًا على سلوك الأطفال وسلامتهم النفسية والاجتماعية».
The game "Roblox" continues to stir a storm of controversy in Iraq. Just a week after the ban was announced, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior revealed a horrifying case involving a teenager who used the game to recruit his victims and drive them to commit mass suicide.
The ministry stated in an official statement that the accused was responsible for the suicides of 30 individuals from both inside and outside Iraq, after luring them through the "Roblox" platform to perform bizarre rituals involving self-harm and writing names in blood on their bodies.
Major General Mustafa Al-Yasiri, director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate, said that the suspect engaged in terrifying luring operations, convincing his victims to harm themselves and record their actions. He even went as far as inciting violence, suicide, and animal burning as part of "satanic" challenges within the game.
The authorities clarified that the victims of the accused belonged to various Arab and foreign countries, noting that the latest was a teenage Iraqi girl who committed suicide in accordance with his instructions, which expedited the unraveling of the case.
The Ministry of Interior urged parents to monitor their children while using the internet and electronic games, warning of the dangers of virtual games that allow direct communication between users and open the door to cyberbullying and exploitation.
This horrifying development comes days after Iraqi authorities decided to ban the game "Roblox" on October 20, due to its sexual innuendos, obscene language, and behaviors that contradict societal values, in addition to concerns about its use in luring children and teenagers.
The Iraqi government confirmed at the time that the ban was aimed at protecting community security and preserving moral values, pointing out that the game poses a "direct threat to children's behavior and their psychological and social safety."
