أعلنت شركة «ماركس أند سبنسر» سحبا عاجلا لمنتجها «شوكولاتة الحليب بالعسل المقرمش» من الأسواق، بسبب مخاوف من احتمال تسببه في ردود فعل تحسسية خطيرة.
الغذاء البريطانية تسحب شوكولاتة شهيرة
وبحسب بيان صادر عن هيئة معايير الغذاء البريطانية، فإن المنتج قد يحتوي على الفول السوداني، وهو مكون غير مدرج على الملصق، مما يشكل خطرًا صحيًا على الأشخاص الذين يعانون من حساسية تجاه الفول السوداني.
وأضاف البيان أنه حتى الكميات الضئيلة من الفول السوداني يمكن أن تؤدي إلى الإصابة بالتأقيد (صدمة الحساسية)، وهي حالة قد تهدد الحياة.
دعوات واعتذار الشركة
ودعت الشركة العملاء الذين يعانون من حساسية الفول السوداني إلى إعادة المنتج إلى أقرب متجر لـ«ماركس أند سبنسر» لاسترداد قيمته بالكامل، ويحمل المنتج المسحوب تاريخ انتهاء صلاحية 12 مايو 2026، والرمز الشريطي 0917568/29143603.
وأصدرت الشركة بيانًا جاء فيه: «نعتذر لعملائنا عن أي إزعاج قد يسببه هذا الإجراء. سلامة العملاء هي أولويتنا القصوى، ونحن نتعامل مع جميع المشكلات المتعلقة بإنتاج أغذيتنا بمنتهى الجدية».
وأشارت هيئة معايير الغذاء إلى أنها تصدر تنبيهات السحب عند وجود مخاطر على المستهلكين بسبب غياب أو خطأ في بيانات الحساسية على الملصقات، كما وضعت الشركة إشعارات في نقاط البيع لتوضيح أسباب السحب وإرشاد العملاء الذين اشتروا المنتج.
حساسية المكسرات
يُذكر أن حساسية المكسرات تصيب نحو 1 من كل 50 طفلًا و1 من كل 200 بالغ في بريطانيا، وفقًا لمؤسسة «Allergy UK».
ويأتي هذا الإعلان بعد أيام من سحب متجر «ألدي» لمنتج «آيس كريم جياني تشيكي مونكي» بسبب احتوائه على القمح غير المُدرج على الملصق، مما يشكل خطرًا على مرضى الداء البطني أو الذين يعانون من حساسية القمح.
حوادث قاتلة للحساسية الغذائية
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن حالات الحساسية الغذائية القاتلة، مثل وفاة ناتاشا إدنان-لابيروز عام 2016 بعد تناول خبز يحتوي على السمسم من «بريت آ مانجر»، أدت إلى سن قوانين جديدة في بريطانيا (قانون ناتاشا) لتحسين بيانات الحساسية على الأغذية المعبأة مسبقًا.

According to a statement from the UK Food Standards Agency, the product may contain peanuts, which is an undeclared ingredient on the label, posing a health risk to individuals with peanut allergies.
The statement added that even small amounts of peanuts can lead to anaphylaxis (allergic shock), a potentially life-threatening condition.
Company's Apology and Call to Action
The company urged customers who are allergic to peanuts to return the product to the nearest Marks & Spencer store for a full refund. The recalled product has an expiration date of May 12, 2026, and the barcode 0917568/29143603.
The company issued a statement saying: “We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this action may cause. Customer safety is our top priority, and we take all issues related to our food production very seriously.”
The Food Standards Agency noted that it issues recall alerts when there are risks to consumers due to missing or incorrect allergen information on labels, and the company has placed notices at points of sale to clarify the reasons for the recall and guide customers who purchased the product.
Nut Allergies
It is noted that nut allergies affect about 1 in every 50 children and 1 in every 200 adults in the UK, according to the “Allergy UK” foundation.
This announcement comes days after Aldi recalled the “Gianni Cheeky Monkey Ice Cream” product due to the presence of undeclared wheat, posing a risk to individuals with celiac disease or wheat allergies.
Fatal Food Allergy Incidents
It is worth mentioning that fatal food allergies, such as the death of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse in 2016 after consuming bread containing sesame from “Pret a Manger,” led to the enactment of new laws in the UK (Natasha's Law) to improve allergen labeling on pre-packaged foods.
