اهتزت الأوساط الأكاديمية في تركيا بعد اكتشاف كاميرات سرية داخل مستشفى جامعة «أكدينيز» كانت تُسجّل بالصوت والصورة دون علم المرضى أو الأطباء، ما فجّر فضيحة مدوية هزّت الثقة في واحدة من أبرز المؤسسات التعليمية الطبية بالبلاد.
بداية القصة
بدأت القضية في مارس الماضي عندما لاحظ موظفون وجود كاميرا صغيرة مثبتة أمام مكتب أستاذ في كلية الطب لا تتبع النظام الأمني الرسمي للمستشفى. وبعد الفحص، تبيّن أنها كانت توثّق كل ما يدور في الممر الطبي، بما في ذلك أحاديث المرضى والطلاب والزائرين.
تحقيقات موسّعة
وكشف التحقيق الداخلي أن الكاميرا كانت مرتبطة بغرفة مجاورة يستخدمها أستاذ جامعي آخر، دون علم إدارة المستشفى. كما تبيّن أن أجهزة إضافية في المكاتب المجاورة كانت متصلة بنفس النظام، ما أثار شكوكًا بوجود شبكة مراقبة غير قانونية داخل الكلية.
قرارات صارمة
من جانبها، سارعت جامعة «أكدينيز» إلى إيقاف أربعة موظفين عن العمل، بينهم البروفيسور «م.ت.» المتهم الرئيسي، فيما قدّم أحد الأساتذة استقالته وأُحيل آخر إلى التقاعد. وأكد تقرير اللجنة التأديبية أن تركيب الكاميرات تمّ بطريقة مخالفة للقانون وتشكل انتهاكًا للكرامة الأكاديمية ولأخلاقيات المهنة.
فصل نهائي
بناءً على نتائج التحقيق، أوصت اللجنة بفصل البروفيسور «م.ت.» نهائيًا من الوظيفة العامة استنادًا إلى المادة (53) من قانون التعليم العالي، فيما أُحيل القرار إلى مجلس التعليم العالي التركي (YÖK) للمصادقة النهائية.
دفاع غير مقنع
من جهته، نفى البروفيسور «م.ت.» الاتهامات، مدعيًا أن الأجهزة كانت تُستخدم لأغراض بحثية، لكن اللجنة اعتبرت مبرراته واهية وغير مدعومة بالأدلة التقنية التي أكدت وجود تسجيلات خفية.

The Beginning of the Story
The case began last March when employees noticed a small camera installed in front of a professor's office in the Faculty of Medicine that was not part of the hospital's official security system. Upon inspection, it was found that it was documenting everything happening in the medical corridor, including conversations among patients, students, and visitors.
Extensive Investigations
The internal investigation revealed that the camera was linked to an adjacent room used by another university professor, without the knowledge of the hospital administration. It also became clear that additional devices in neighboring offices were connected to the same system, raising suspicions of an illegal surveillance network within the faculty.
Strict Decisions
In response, Akdeniz University quickly suspended four employees, including Professor "M.T.", the main accused, while one professor submitted his resignation and another was retired. The disciplinary committee's report confirmed that the installation of the cameras was done in violation of the law and constituted a breach of academic dignity and professional ethics.
Final Dismissal
Based on the investigation's findings, the committee recommended the permanent dismissal of Professor "M.T." from public service based on Article (53) of the Higher Education Law, while the decision was referred to the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) for final approval.
Unconvincing Defense
For his part, Professor "M.T." denied the allegations, claiming that the devices were used for research purposes, but the committee deemed his justifications weak and unsupported by the technical evidence that confirmed the existence of covert recordings.
