في مشهد لا يُصدق، اعترف رجل أمريكي يُدعى لورينز كراوس بقتل والديه قبل ثماني سنوات، وذلك خلال مقابلة تلفزيونية مباشرة على قناة محلية في ولاية نيويورك.
وجاء اعترافه الصادم بعد أن اكتشفت الشرطة جثتين مدفونتين في فناء منزله الخلفي، في إطار تحقيق في احتيال على الضمان الاجتماعي.
اعترف بهدوء أمام الكاميرا
ظهر كراوس (يرتدي قميصًا رماديًا ونظارات رفيعة) في استوديو قناة
WRGB CBS بمدينة ألباني، وجلس على كرسي بملامح باردة وهو يجيب عن أسئلة المذيع.
وعندما سأله الصحفي:
«هل كان والداك يعلمان بما يحدث لهما عندما ماتا؟»
أجاب كراوس ببساطة:
«نعم، بالتأكيد.. لم يفعلها أحد غيري».
الشرطة كانت بانتظاره
بعد انتهاء المقابلة التي استمرت نحو 20 دقيقة، كانت الشرطة بانتظاره خارج الاستوديو، حيث تم اعتقاله فور خروجه، حسبما أكدت القناة التي بثت المقابلة لاحقًا في نشرتها المسائية.
التهمة: جريمة مزدوجة
وُجهت إلى كراوس تهمتان بالقتل من الدرجة الثانية، وتهمتان بإخفاء جثتين، في جريمة تعود إلى الفترة ما بين يوليو وسبتمبر 2017.
وتشير التحقيقات إلى أنه خنق والديه فرانز وتيريزيا كراوس ودفنهما في باحة منزلهما الواقع في حي وايتهول بمدينة ألباني.
طلب قانوني غريب
وخلال مثوله الأول أمام المحكمة يوم الجمعة، طلب كراوس أن تتم محاكمته «وفقًا للقانون الألماني»، في إشارة غريبة لم يتم التعليق عليها بعد من الجهات الرسمية.

“Did your parents know what was happening to them when they died?”
Krauss simply replied:
“Yes, definitely... no one did it but me.”
The police were waiting for him
After the interview, which lasted about 20 minutes, the police were waiting for him outside the studio, where he was arrested immediately upon exiting, according to the channel that later broadcast the interview in its evening news.
Charge: Double homicide
Krauss was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of concealing two bodies, in a crime that dates back to the period between July and September 2017.
Investigations indicate that he strangled his parents, Franz and Teresia Krauss, and buried them in the yard of their home located in the Whitehall neighborhood of Albany.
Strange legal request
During his first court appearance on Friday, Krauss requested to be tried "according to German law," a strange reference that has not yet been commented on by official sources.
