افتتح أطول جسر في العالم أمام حركة المرور، اليوم (الأحد)، في مقاطعة قويتشو بجنوب غربي الصين، ما أدى إلى تقليص زمن السفر عبر واد عميق من ساعتين إلى دقيقتين فقط بعد 3 سنوات من البناء.
وبينت وكالة الأنباء الصينية «شينخوا» أن جسر وادي هواجيانغ الكبير يرتفع 625 مترا فوق نهر بيبان في التضاريس الجبلية بمقاطعة قويتشو، وهو أطول بنحو 9 مرات من جسر البوابة الذهبية في سان فرانسيسكو.
ووفقا لسلطات مقاطعة قويتشو، أصبح المشروع، الذي يبلغ طول امتداده الرئيسي 1420 مترا، أطول جسر معلق بجسور جملونية فولاذية ذات امتداد طويل في تضاريس جبلية في العالم.
ويمتد الهيكل البالغ طوله 2890 مترا فوق وادي هواجيانغ الكبير، الذي يطلق عليه اسم «شق الأرض»، وهو أحدث إضافة إلى شبكة البنية التحتية سريعة التوسع لثاني أكبر اقتصاد في العالم.

The world's longest bridge was opened to traffic today (Sunday) in Guizhou Province in southwestern China, reducing travel time across a deep valley from two hours to just two minutes after three years of construction.
The Chinese news agency "Xinhua" reported that the Huajiang Grand Bridge rises 625 meters above the Biban River in the mountainous terrain of Guizhou Province, making it about nine times longer than the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
According to the authorities in Guizhou Province, the project, which has a main span of 1,420 meters, has become the longest suspension bridge with steel arch bridges of long span in mountainous terrain in the world.
The structure, measuring 2,890 meters in length, spans the Huajiang Grand Valley, which is referred to as the "Earth's Rift," and is the latest addition to the rapidly expanding infrastructure network of the world's second-largest economy.
Over the years, Guizhou, one of the least developed provinces in China, has built more than 30,000 bridges in its mountainous terrain, including three of the longest bridges in the world. The province is home to nearly half of the world's 100 longest bridges.
