تكشفت أسرار القضية بعدما لاحظ أحد الشهود سيارة مشبوهة متوقفة خلف المبنى، ورأى ضوءا يتسلل من باب صغير متهالك، قبل أن يُغلق بشكل مفاجئ. وكان هذا الباب هو المدخل الذي استخدمه الرجل للوصول إلى مساحته السرية.
المتهم وسجله الإجرامي
ويُدعى الموقوف بنيامين بوكور (40 عاماً). ووفقاً للشرطة، فقد وُجهت له تهم السطو من الدرجة الأولى والحيازة غير القانونية للميثامفيتامين. كما تبين أن لديه سجلاً جنائياً مليئاً بجرائم سابقة تشمل السطو والاعتداء.
احتجاز بكفالة عالية
وجرى نقل بوكور إلى سجن مقاطعة كلاكماس، حيث حدد القاضي كفالته بمبلغ 75 ألف دولار. وأوضح مكتب الشريف أن المتهم «اتخذ خطوات واضحة لجعل المساحة الخفية صالحة للعيش، وكان من الواضح أنه يعتبرها منزلاً فعلياً».
