أصبحت نيكيا هاميلتون (25 عاماً) حديث المنصات الشهر الماضي بعدما نشر أحد الزبائن مقطع فيديو لها على «تيك توك» وهي تدير مطعماً تابعاً لـ«برغر كينغ» في ساوث كارولاينا بمفردها وسط نقص حاد في الموظفين.
لكن شهرتها لم تشفع لها؛ إذ أعلنت هاميلتون في مقطع جديد أنها فُصلت من عملها بعد تكرار تأخرها عن الدوام بسبب صعوبات في تأمين رعاية منتظمة لأطفالها.
وقالت العاملة الأمريكية إن الظروف العائلية جعلت من المستحيل عليها الالتزام الدائم بساعات العمل، مضيفة أن قرار طردها شكّل صدمة بعد أن كانت قد لاقت تعاطفاً واسعاً على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، إذ اعتبرها كثيرون مثالاً للإرادة والاجتهاد.
وأعادت القضية فتح النقاش في الولايات المتحدة حول تحديات التوفيق بين العمل ورعاية الأطفال، خصوصا للنساء العاملات في وظائف منخفضة الأجور. ورغم خسارة وظيفتها، ما زالت هاميلتون تحظى بدعم واسع من متابعيها الذين دعوها لاعتبار قصتها دافعاً لإيجاد فرص أفضل وأكثر استقراراً.

However, her fame did not save her; Hamilton announced in a new clip that she was fired from her job after repeatedly being late due to difficulties in securing regular childcare for her children.
The American worker stated that family circumstances made it impossible for her to consistently commit to work hours, adding that her dismissal was a shock after she had received widespread sympathy on social media, as many considered her an example of willpower and hard work.
The case reopened the discussion in the United States about the challenges of balancing work and childcare, especially for women working in low-wage jobs. Despite losing her job, Hamilton still enjoys broad support from her followers who urged her to consider her story as motivation to find better and more stable opportunities.
