أعلنت شركة OpenAI أنها لن تقوم بعد الآن بإزالة النماذج القديمة من ChatGPT دون سابق إنذار، بعد موجة كبيرة من ردود الفعل الغاضبة تجاه استبدال نموذج GPT-4o بالإصدار الجديد GPT-5.
وقال نيك تورلي، رئيس ChatGPT: «علينا أن نمنح المستخدمين مستوى من القدرة على التنبؤ عند حدوث تغييرات كبيرة». وأضاف أن العديد من المستخدمين أظهروا تعلقًا شخصيًا بنموذج GPT-4o، وأن إزالة الخيارات فجأة أثارت استياء واسعا.
وأوضح تورلي أن الهدف من تحديث GPT-5 هو تحسين تجربة المستخدم وجلب ميزات جديدة، لكنه شدد على أن الشركة تعمل على دمج ما سماه «دفء» GPT-4o في النسخة الجديدة، لتقليل أثر الانتقال على المستخدمين العاديين.
يذكر أن GPT-4o ظل الخيار الافتراضي لمعظم مستخدمي ChatGPT، البالغ عددهم نحو 700 مليون أسبوعيًا، قبل إطلاق GPT-5، ما جعل فقدانه المفاجئ بمثابة صدمة للبعض على منصات مثل Reddit، حيث وصف بعض المستخدمين الانتقال بأنه «فقدان صديق مقرب».
OpenAI announced that it will no longer remove old models from ChatGPT without prior notice, following a significant wave of angry reactions to the replacement of the GPT-4o model with the new GPT-5 release.
Nick Turley, head of ChatGPT, stated, “We need to give users a level of predictability when major changes occur.” He added that many users had shown a personal attachment to the GPT-4o model, and the sudden removal of options sparked widespread discontent.
Turley explained that the goal of the GPT-5 update is to enhance the user experience and bring new features, but he emphasized that the company is working to incorporate what he called the “warmth” of GPT-4o into the new version, to minimize the impact of the transition on regular users.
It is worth noting that GPT-4o remained the default option for most of ChatGPT's approximately 700 million weekly users before the launch of GPT-5, making its sudden loss a shock for some on platforms like Reddit, where some users described the transition as a “loss of a close friend.”
