يرى شاعر العرضة الجنوبية صويلح المنتشري، أن الشيلات لا يمكن أن تكون بديلا للعرضة كقيمة مجتمعية بل يراها - ويعذرني الضالعون في هذا التخصص - أنها مسخ لإرثنا وموروثنا وينبغي إذا كان لا بد منها أن تكون كما هي في المحاورة كـ(خيار عاشر).
وعن أسباب خفوت بريق العرضة، قال صويلح: «ليس لهذه الدرجة، لكن هناك من قلل من هذا الموروث من متسلقين يعرضون أنفسهم على أهل الحفلات بقيمة أقل لأنهم في الأساس ليسوا شعراء».
وسألته، مثل من؟ فقال: معروفون في وسطنا وبعضهم تحولوا إلى سماسرة لكثير من الشعراء، إلا أن هذه الأفعال مع الزمن ستتلاشى ويبقى الشعر الذي هو القيمة الفعلية لكل شاعر حقيقي.
وحول سؤال آخر، قال الشاعر صويلح: «للأسف أرى هناك تغريبا لشعر العرضة الجنوبية بإدخال موسيقى وغناء ورقص مسيء، مكانه ليس ساحة العرضة».
وأشار في هذا السياق إلى أنه يجب إيقافها، فموروثنا أسمى وأكبر من هذه الأفعال غير الجيدة.
وعن كيفية إعادة العرضة إلى وهجها، قال: هي موجودة عند المتمسكين بها، لكن عندنا في تهامة يجب إعادة النظر في كثير من الأمور وبعدها سيعود الشعر والحفلات كما كانت قبل عشر سنوات. وأخذنا الحوار إلى بعض المعارك الشعرية في الحفلات، وقال عنها: منها محمود، ومنها مذموم، لكن المحمود الأكثر في محاوراتنا التي تهدف إلى إضفاء جو حماسي على العرضة، أما المذموم فهذا ما يخرج الحوار والمحاورة عن ثوابتها، وإن فصلت أخشى من تفسيرات أنا في غنى عنها.

The southern ardha poet, Suwaileh Al-Muntashiri, believes that the shaylat cannot replace the ardha as a community value. He sees them - and I apologize to those knowledgeable in this field - as a distortion of our heritage and tradition, and if they must exist, they should be as they are in the dialogue, as a "tenth option."
Regarding the reasons for the fading brilliance of the ardha, Suwaileh said: "Not to that extent, but there are those who have diminished this heritage, climbing up to present themselves to the people of the events at a lower value because they are not poets in essence."
I asked him, like who? He replied: "They are known in our community, and some have turned into brokers for many poets, but these actions will fade over time, and only the poetry that is the true value of every real poet will remain."
In response to another question, poet Suwaileh said: "Unfortunately, I see there is an alienation of southern ardha poetry by introducing music, singing, and inappropriate dancing, which do not belong in the ardha arena."
He pointed out in this context that it should be stopped, as our heritage is greater and nobler than these undesirable actions.
On how to restore the ardha to its former glory, he said: "It exists among those who hold on to it, but here in Tihama, we need to reconsider many things, and then poetry and events will return as they were ten years ago." We took the conversation to some poetic battles at events, and he said about them: "Some are commendable, and some are blameworthy, but the commendable ones are more prevalent in our dialogues that aim to create an enthusiastic atmosphere for the ardha. As for the blameworthy, this is what takes the dialogue and discussion away from its fundamentals, and if I elaborate, I fear interpretations that I would rather avoid."
