هاجم لص ملثم مساء أمس (الأربعاء) رجلاً ثلاثينياً وسط لندن لانتزاع ساعته الثمينة، وسدد له طعنات قاتلة بعد أن حاول الضحية مقاومة اللص.
وقال شهود عيان إن ملثماً حاول انتزاع ساعة ذهبية من أحد المارة قبل أن يطعنه حتى الموت -أمام زوجته- خارج فندق وكازينو بارك تاور ذي الخمس نجوم، الذي تبلغ تكلفة الليلة فيه 1650 جنيهاً إسترلينياً، ويقع بالقرب من متجر هارفي نيكولز في نايتسبريدغ.

ووصف آخرون الجريمة: «كان الزوجان يسيران على الرصيف وحاول الرجل الثلاثيني الدفاع عن نفسه لكن اللص أخذ السكين وطعنه في صدره، وهرب على دراجة نارية».
وقال عامل في فندق فاخر بالقرب من مسرح الجريمة: «رأيت الرجل ملقى على الرصيف، وكانت امرأة تحاول مساعدته وتبكي. كان هناك الكثير من الدماء. وكان يرتدي قميصاً أبيض أو كريمي اللون. لقد كان فاقداً للوعي. وقال العامل إنه يعتقد أن المهاجم كان على دراجة كهربائية».
من جانبه، قال متحدث باسم شرطة لندن: «في تمام الساعة 9:24 مساءً يوم الأربعاء 9 يوليو استجابت فرق الإسعاف وخدمة إسعاف لندن والإسعاف الجوي لبلاغات عن حادثة طعن في شارع إشبيلية، نايتسبريدغ».

وعُثر على رجل في الثلاثينات من عمره في موقع الحادثة مصاباً بطعنات، وتلقى العلاج من المسعفين، وللأسف رغم جهودهم الحثيثة أُعلنت وفاته بعد وصولهم بوقت قصير.
ولا تزال التحقيقات جارية. ولم يتم إلقاء القبض على أي شخص حتى الآن.
وتأتي الحادثة في اليوم نفسه الذي وعد فيه عمدة لندن صادق خان بشن بحملة مكثفة على جرائم وسط المدينة.
مؤكداً: «هذا الصيف، ستشهد مراكز المدن والشوارع الرئيسية المزيد من رجال الشرطة، كجزء من عملنا التعاوني لمعالجة سرقة المتاجر والسرقة والسلوكيات المعادية للمجتمع».
وكتب على موقع X: «نحن نعمل مع شرطة العاصمة والشركاء المحليين والجماعات المجتمعية لبناء مراكز مدن أكثر أماناً ولندن أكثر أماناً للجميع».
A masked thief attacked a man in his thirties in central London last night (Wednesday) to snatch his valuable watch, stabbing him fatally after the victim tried to resist the thief.
Witnesses said that a masked man attempted to take a gold watch from a passerby before stabbing him to death - in front of his wife - outside the five-star Park Tower Hotel and Casino, where the cost of a night is £1,650, located near Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

Others described the crime: "The couple was walking on the sidewalk, and the man in his thirties tried to defend himself, but the thief took out a knife and stabbed him in the chest, then fled on a motorcycle."
A worker at a luxury hotel near the crime scene said: "I saw the man lying on the sidewalk, and a woman was trying to help him and crying. There was a lot of blood. He was wearing a white or cream-colored shirt. He was unconscious. The worker said he believed the attacker was on an electric bike."
For his part, a spokesperson for the London police said: "At 9:24 PM on Wednesday, July 9, ambulance teams, the London Ambulance Service, and air ambulance responded to reports of a stabbing on Sevilla Street, Knightsbridge."

A man in his thirties was found at the scene with stab wounds and received treatment from paramedics; unfortunately, despite their diligent efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.
Investigations are still ongoing. No one has been arrested so far.
The incident comes on the same day that London Mayor Sadiq Khan promised to launch an intensive campaign against crimes in the city center.
He confirmed: "This summer, city centers and main streets will see more police officers as part of our collaborative work to tackle shoplifting, theft, and anti-social behavior."
He wrote on X: "We are working with the Metropolitan Police, local partners, and community groups to build safer city centers and a safer London for everyone."
