تواجه شركة بوينغ موجة جديدة من الاتهامات بشأن عيوب تصنيعية جسيمة، بعد كارثة تحطم طائرة هندية من طراز 787 دريملاينر، أسفرت عن مصرع 279 شخصًا في مدينة أحمد أباد، بينهم ركاب وأفراد طاقم وسكان محليون.
ووجّه المدير التنفيذي السابق في بوينغ إد بيرسون، اتهامات مباشرة إلى الشركة، مشيرًا إلى أن «تصنيعًا فوضويًا وخطيرًا» كان سائدًا داخل مصانعها، وهو ما قد يكون ساهم في الكارثة.
بيرسون، الذي سبق أن أدلى بشهادته أمام الكونغرس الأمريكي، أكد أن موظفين كانوا يُجبرون على تركيب قطع غير مطابقة للمواصفات لسد الفجوات، وسط ضغوط مكثفة لتسريع الإنتاج.
وأضاف أن هذه التحذيرات أُطلقت منذ عام 2019، وشملت طرازات مثل 737 ماكس و787 دريملاينر، مشددًا على أن تلك الإخفاقات لم تكن مؤقتة بل ممنهجة وطويلة الأمد، ما يثير التساؤلات حول سلامة أسطول بوينغ العالمي.
ورغم نفي بوينغ السابق لهذه المزاعم، فإن الحادثة الأخيرة أعادت فتح الملف، خصوصاً أن تحقيقات رسمية لم تنفِ بعد وجود خلل ميكانيكي محتمل، إلى جانب فرضية الخطأ البشري.
الكارثة وقعت بعد دقائق من إقلاع الرحلة المتجهة إلى مطار غاتويك بلندن، حيث فقدت الطائرة توازنها وسقطت في منطقة مكتظة بالسكان، وأظهرت كاميرات المراقبة لحظة الانفجار بعد إرسال نداء استغاثة من الطيار.
الناجي الوحيد من الحادثة البريطاني فيشواش كومار راميش (40 عامًا)، نجا بأعجوبة بعدما سقط الجناح الأيسر للطائرة على مبنى منخفض، وتمكن من الهرب عبر باب مكسور بمساعدة الأهالي، بينما فقد شقيقه في الانفجار.
ويشارك في التحقيق فريق من هيئة التحقيق في حوادث الطيران البريطانية (AAIB) إلى جانب المحققين الهنود، فيما تم العثور على أحد الصندوقين الأسودين، وسط سباق مع الزمن لتحديد السبب الحقيقي وراء الحادثة.
وكان على متن الطائرة 169 راكبًا هنديًا، و53 بريطانيًا، و7 برتغاليين، وكندي واحد، إضافة إلى 12 من طاقم الطائرة. وأعلن قصر باكنغهام أن الملك تشارلز الثالث سيرتدي الشارة السوداء، وسيُخصص دقيقة صمت في عيد ميلاده الرسمي، حدادًا على الضحايا.
Boeing is facing a new wave of accusations regarding serious manufacturing defects, following the disaster of an Indian 787 Dreamliner crash that resulted in the deaths of 279 people in Ahmedabad, including passengers, crew members, and local residents.
Former Boeing CEO Ed Pearson directly accused the company, pointing out that "chaotic and dangerous manufacturing" was prevalent within its factories, which may have contributed to the disaster.
Pearson, who previously testified before the U.S. Congress, confirmed that employees were forced to install non-compliant parts to fill gaps, amid intense pressure to accelerate production.
He added that these warnings were issued since 2019, covering models such as the 737 Max and 787 Dreamliner, emphasizing that these failures were not temporary but systematic and long-term, raising questions about the safety of Boeing's global fleet.
Despite Boeing's previous denial of these allegations, the recent incident has reopened the file, especially since official investigations have yet to rule out the possibility of a mechanical failure, alongside the hypothesis of human error.
The disaster occurred minutes after the flight took off for Gatwick Airport in London, where the aircraft lost balance and crashed in a densely populated area, with surveillance cameras capturing the moment of the explosion after the pilot sent a distress call.
The sole survivor of the incident, British Vishwash Kumar Ramesh (40 years old), miraculously escaped after the left wing of the plane fell on a low building, managing to flee through a broken door with the help of locals, while his brother was lost in the explosion.
A team from the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is participating in the investigation alongside Indian investigators, while one of the black boxes has been found, amid a race against time to determine the true cause of the incident.
There were 169 Indian passengers, 53 British passengers, 7 Portuguese passengers, and 1 Canadian, in addition to 12 crew members on board the aircraft. Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will wear a black armband and a minute of silence will be observed on his official birthday in mourning for the victims.
