أعاد البرتغالي جوزيه غوميز مدرب الفتح فتح ملف التحكيم في دوري المحترفين، بعد تصريحات لافتة انتقد فيها الاعتماد على الحكام الأجانب في بعض المباريات، مؤكدًا أن الحكم السعودي لا يقل كفاءة عن نظيره الأجنبي، وأن أخطاء الأول تُضخّم إعلاميًا بينما يتم التقليل من أخطاء الثاني.
وجاءت تصريحات غوميز خلال المؤتمر الصحفي الذي سبق مواجهة فريقه أمام الهلال، حيث استعاد مدرب الفتح أحداث مواجهة الموسم الماضي التي خسرها فريقه بنتيجة 3-4 رغم تسجيله خمسة أهداف، إذ أُلغي هدفان واحتُسب هدف مثير للجدل لصالح الهلال، وكانت المباراة بقيادة طاقم تحكيم أجنبي.
وتساءل غوميز بوضوح: «طالما أننا الفريق المستضيف، فلماذا لا يكون لنا الحق في اختيار طاقم التحكيم؟ لماذا لا يكون الحكم سعوديًا إذا أردنا ذلك؟ ولماذا تملك بعض الأندية القدرة على طلب حكام أجانب في كل المباريات سواء على أرضها أو خارجها؟».
تصريحات مدرب الفتح أعادت طرح تساؤلات داخل الوسط الرياضي حول آلية اختيار الحكام الأجانب، وما إذا كانت هذه المباريات تُدار تلقائيًا بطواقم تحكيم أجنبية، أم أن الأمر يخضع لطلبات الأندية أو لاعتبارات أخرى داخل منظومة التنظيم.
ويأتي هذا الجدل في وقت يسعى فيه الدوري السعودي لتعزيز احترافيته وإدارة سمعته عالميًا، ما يجعل الشفافية في آليات اختيار الحكام مسألة أساسية للحفاظ على ثقة الأندية والجماهير، خصوصًا في المباريات الكبرى التي تحظى بمتابعة واسعة.
The Portuguese coach José Gomes of Al-Fateh has reopened the file on refereeing in the Professional League, following striking statements in which he criticized the reliance on foreign referees in some matches, asserting that Saudi referees are no less competent than their foreign counterparts, and that the mistakes of the former are exaggerated in the media while the mistakes of the latter are downplayed.

Gomes clearly questioned: "As long as we are the hosting team, why don't we have the right to choose the refereeing crew? Why can't the referee be Saudi if we want that? And why do some clubs have the ability to request foreign referees in every match, whether at home or away?"
