حذّر أخصائي طب عيون من مخاطر استخدام الرموش الصناعية، مشيراً إلى أن المواد الكيميائية في لاصق الرموش قد تؤدي إلى مضاعفات صحية خطيرة، تشمل في بعض الحالات فقدان البصر.
وأوضح الدكتور سوراب سيثي، أن معظم لواصق الرموش تحتوي على مادة الفورمالديهايد، المعروفة بتأثيرها الضار على الجلد والرموش الطبيعية، وقد تتسبب في حساسية حادة، وترقق أو فقدان دائم للرموش. وأضاف أن التعرض لهذه المادة في منطقة العين يمكن أن يؤدي إلى التهابات شديدة قد تصل إلى تلف في القرنية أو العمى في الحالات النادرة.

Dr. Surab Sethi explained that most eyelash glues contain formaldehyde, known for its harmful effects on the skin and natural eyelashes, and can cause severe allergies, thinning, or permanent loss of eyelashes. He added that exposure to this substance in the eye area can lead to severe inflammation that may result in corneal damage or blindness in rare cases.
