أحبطت السلطات العراقية محاولة لتهريب 250 مليون دينار عراقي (191739 دولاراً) إلى الأردن، كانت مخبأة في حجرة محرك سيارة المهرّب.
وصرحت هيئة المنافذ الحدودية العراقية في بيان لها أمس (الإثنين) بأن مديرية منفذ طريبيل الحدودي تمكنت من ضبط المبلغ بعد تكثيف عمليات التفتيش والتدقيق للمسافرين والبضائع.
وأوضح البيان أن القوات الأمنية قبضت على سائق عراقي كان يحمل المبلغ مخبأً بطريقة محترفة داخل غطاء محرك سيارته، بهدف تهريبه إلى الجانب الأردني.
وشاركت في عملية الضبط قوات مشتركة تضم شرطة الجمارك وقوة الحماية والجمارك المدني.
وأشار البيان إلى أنه تم تحرير محضر ضبط رسمي، كما تمت مصادرة الأموال وإحالة السائق إلى مركز شرطة جمارك طريبيل لتقديمه إلى قاضي التحقيق، لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.
The Iraqi authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle 250 million Iraqi dinars (191,739 dollars) into Jordan, which was hidden in the engine compartment of the smuggler's car.
The Iraqi Border Ports Authority stated in a statement yesterday (Monday) that the Tarbil border crossing management was able to seize the amount after intensifying inspection and scrutiny operations for travelers and goods.
The statement clarified that security forces arrested an Iraqi driver who was carrying the amount hidden in a professional manner inside the hood of his car, with the aim of smuggling it to the Jordanian side.
The operation involved joint forces, including customs police and civil protection and customs forces.
The statement indicated that an official seizure report was prepared, the money was confiscated, and the driver was referred to the Tarbil Customs Police Station to be presented to the investigating judge for necessary legal actions.
