The numbers paint a picture of a rapid transformation in the Saudi entertainment market; the number of active commercial registrations for entertainment centers rose to 8,462 by the end of the first half of 2026, compared to 5,216 in 2024, reflecting a growth of nearly 62% over two years. This rise indicates a shift in entertainment from a limited seasonal activity to a more expansive daily market, distributed among family centers, shopping malls, gaming experiences, cafes, and accompanying services, a transformation confirmed by the growth rate itself over the past two years.
After reaching 7,640 registrations in 2025, the sector continued to expand by adding 822 new registrations during the first half of 2026 alone, reflecting an acceleration in investor entry and the expansion of activities beyond their traditional forms.
Regionally, Riyadh led the scene with 3,580 registrations, accounting for about 42% of the total, followed by the Makkah region with 2,295 registrations, and the Eastern region with 933 registrations, in a distribution that reveals the concentration of demand in major cities and the widening consumer base within them.
This commercial expansion is paralleled by a clear increase in public attendance; the entertainment sector attracted more than 89 million visitors during 2025, while the number of visitors during the first half of 2026 reached approximately 45.7 million, coinciding with the number of companies operating in the sector exceeding 7,200, and the issuance of more than 2,500 licenses for entertainment and supporting activities during the first six months of the year.
With this growth, the market is no longer solely based on games; it has shifted towards a broader business model that includes cafes, food, childcare, monthly subscriptions, and family packages, which increases the duration of visitor stays and enhances the diversity of revenue sources.
With these indicators, family entertainment solidifies its position as one of the fastest-growing activities in the Saudi market, driven by high demand, diverse experiences, and the transformation of entertainment spending into a fixed part of daily lifestyle.
