ونشرت السيدة الأولى السابقة جيل بايدن وابنة الرئيس السابق آشلي بايدن صورة على إنستغرام، ظهر فيها جو بايدن برفقة أفراد آخرين من العائلة للاحتفال بتخرج روبرت هانتر بايدن الثاني من المدرسة الثانوية في سالزبوري، كونيتيكت.
وتضمنت إحدى الصور التي نشرتها جيل بايدن تعليقًا: «جدتي وجدي فخوران! تهانينا هانتر - نحن فخورون بك للغاية».
وكان مكتب الرئيس الأمريكي السابق جو بايدن، البالغ من العمر 82 عاماً، أعلن إصابته بسرطان البروستاتا وانتشار الورم في عظامه.
وقال المكتب في بيان الأحد الماضي، إن الأطباء اكتشفوا حالة بايدن أثناء فحوصات بعد شكوى من ألم وأعراض أخرى أثناء التبول، وعثر الأطباء على كتلة صغيرة في غدة البروستاتا.
وأوضح البيان أن هذا النوع من السرطان هو أكثر عدوانية، وأن بايدن وعائلته يراجعون خيارات العلاج.
وغادر بايدن منصبه في يناير الماضي، وكان هناك الكثير من الشكوك والتساؤلات حول صحته خلال فترة ولايته، ما دفعه إلى سحب ترشحه من الانتخابات الرئاسية الماضية وتنازل لنائبته كامالا هاريس.
وأضاف مكتب الرئيس السابق: «في الأسبوع الماضي، خضع الرئيس جو بايدن لفحص جديد لكتلة في البروستاتا بعد أن عانى من أعراض بولية متزايدة».

One of the photos shared by Jill Biden included the caption: "Grandma and Grandpa are proud! Congratulations Hunter - we are so proud of you."
The office of former U.S. President Joe Biden, who is 82 years old, announced his diagnosis of prostate cancer and that the tumor has spread to his bones.
The office stated in a release last Sunday that doctors discovered Biden's condition during examinations following complaints of pain and other symptoms during urination, and they found a small mass in the prostate gland.
The statement clarified that this type of cancer is more aggressive, and Biden and his family are reviewing treatment options.
Biden left office last January, and there were many doubts and questions about his health during his term, which led him to withdraw his candidacy from the last presidential election and concede to his vice president Kamala Harris.
The former president's office added: "Last week, President Joe Biden underwent a new examination for a mass in the prostate after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms."
