وقالت وكالة الأمن الصحي البريطانية إنه لا دليل حتى الآن يشير إلى انتشار الفيروس بين الطيور أو البعوض في المملكة المتحدة، مضيفة أن الخطر على عامة الناس منخفض للغاية.
وأكدت الوكالة أنه حتى الساعة لم تُرصد أية إصابة لدى البشر أو الأحصنة في المملكة المتحدة بفيروس غرب النيل.
The UK Health Security Agency stated that there is currently no evidence indicating the spread of the virus among birds or mosquitoes in the United Kingdom, adding that the risk to the general public is extremely low.
The agency confirmed that, as of now, no cases have been reported in humans or horses in the United Kingdom related to the West Nile virus.
